Exporting Smartsound Music

I like the fact I can easily export to a folder to use on another computer. I don't see any thing related to the smartsound files though in the exported to folder.

Is there a work around for this. It would be nice if maybe I could just produce 1 track that is the SS track and use the file it creates as a source of my SS incorporated into what turned out to be a big project. Or it would be nice if PD9 knew this and created a sound-file for me.

The directory it made is huge with all the files jumbled in, maybe I didn't notice a smartsound file ?

Awhile ago, while I was wrestling with SS not playing reliably (still am), I was told by one of the pros that you could just create a project with an SS file of the duration you want, and the PRODUCE it. I produced as a .wma file and got no sound, but I since came across a post where the proper thing to do is click on the music notes icon (2nd row, far right) of the Produce format selections. I haven't tried that to see if it works - found another workaround for my issue.

I have not tried in PD9 to export a smart sound by itself.

But, I have and you can produce a VIDEO with smart sound of the length you want the sound file to be.
For the Video you can just use the Nature.mpg sample file. (Mute the clip).

Then if you want the audio only, bring that Video into the library and right click and Extract the audio.

I know this may not be the simple way to do this, but I can be pretty sure you would actually get the smart sound recorded this way.

I think that the rule for Smart Sound is, you must include it in a Video production.

No - the SS file isn't exported into the destination folder when you pack the project...

but

Yes - if the same SS track is installed on the other PC, the project will open with the SS track in place.

If that doesn't work, Dave, just use Phil's suggestion of producing the track as a .wma, .wav or m4a file.

I will try exporting just the SS track and I guess that means deleting everything else.

I tried this with my voice overs and it seemed the produced file took all the voices overs and put them end on end with no space in between. Maybe my voice clips got pressed together when I deleted everything else ?

I give the SS a try at some point.
