Ive just completed my first video on PD9. After a some misgivings when i first downloaded PD9 & a few worries as to whether it would all crash near the end,im pleased to say ive sailed through it & im really impressed with the finished result!!!! The colours are nice & bright, the edits & joins are seamless & the effects are fantastic!!! Not only that the upload onto youtube only took 2hours compared with Windows Live Movie Makers being well over 5! I Havnt burned a DVD copy yet as ive got no discs but will hibernate my PC & do it in the morning. I Am a bit unsure as how to save the video on my PC though???

Thanks to everyone who's helped me out over the last couple of days,i couldnt of done it without you!!!

Please take a look, any hints for next time please feel free to let me know!!!

Wow. I can see why you're so proud of how PD9 produced your video. You did a good job of creative editing too. Thanks for sharing this well-done Youtube clip, Ms. WGFC01.

P.S. Took a whole 2 hours to upload?!? How many Gigabytes? I've never uploaded anything to the web before. Your 2 hour figure startled me.

Well done!

To save the video on your PC just Produce the video to the same format that you uploaded to Youtube.
Maybe burn the video to a Disk.

Your camera work is very good. The video does a good job of following the action.

Very Good.... Very Good....

I am glad you hung in there and did not give up like so many do when they have the issues getting PD9 to run.........

Now that you have done one.... the rest are easy....

Not everyone has the same upload speed. I have 3 meg service but upload is only 256k.

Just go into produce and render it to a file.... mpeg4

As long as you saved your project you should be good. To archive the project just go to:
File
Export
Pack Project Materials

It will put copies of all your "stuff" for that project in your default save folder and a folder in that folder. (don't remember what it actually name that folder as I have not used it in a while) The same thing that Power Point does.

Well done

Just a comment on the slow motion - there appears to be a bit of 'lagging' around the movement of limbs etc.

Did you have the 'slow motion video with frame interpolated technology' checked?

If so - turn it off. I have no idea what this function does when using HD footage (accept to say it leaves 'lagging, around key areas).

I also find that slow motion works particularly well when the camera is not panning or zooming in or out.

Happy editing

Thanks very much for that! Your right, the only part of the video that im just a little disappointed in is the very first couple of clips at the beginning that i did in 'Slow Mo'. For those i did check F.I.T. as i thought it sounded as though it was going to enhance the slow mo.Instead it had the opposite effect! Luckily i left it unchecked after the first couple of clips & will do all the time from now on!!!

Yes your right, its very-very easy to become disheartened with anything to do with computers when you dont know what your doing & you've no one to show you.Even worse when you get crashing issues or the software isnt running properly. I Dont think this is just PD9 its with virtually everything you download onto a PC,they all seem to have their little glitches at the start. Last year i brought Roxio Pro 2010 at a cost of £70,its been nothing but trouble & i bet i havnt used it more than 3 times. Its SO complicated & 'glitchy' i gave up in the end. PD9 is much easier to use.In fact ive recommend it to a few people & with me standing over them showing them what to do from the start they will have it mastered within an hour!!!
