Having a minor problem with the second video track

When I place objects and templates in the second video track, it likes to push the other objects and templates I have in place off.
I tried grouping the object with the frame I want it to be with, thinking that would stay with the frame, but that didn't work.

I'm thinking there's an easy fix for this that I haven't thought of yet.

Ane ideas?

Go into your settings, then edit, see if the link tracks is selected. If so uncheck it and your "stuff" should stay where you plant it, with a few exceptions.

Hi Nicole,

Your issue is actually a little complicated. We do not have enough information to pin point what you are doing.

You just need to understand the commands a little more. I suggest you start with the help files. You can start by searching for the word "insert", one of the subjects discussed is "drag and drop media to a desired position on the timeline", among several others.

See...They don't move when I first place the effect there. It's when I go to edit it. That's when the whole timeline ahead of it moves.
I was hoping there was a way I could stop that.

Hi Nicole,

The movement on the timeline is because PDd9 is keeping your resized clip in the same relative position viz a viz the other clips in that track.

If you want to resize a clip and do not want it to affect other clips in your video, put it in another track. You have 100 available to you.

Keep it up.

Although that DOES work, I would like a right-click command such as...hmmm...here it is...
LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE WHERE I PUT IT!
