Creating GC for news editing with PD9
[Post New]
Hi there!

I am completely new to video editing and started this week with Power Director 9 after reading very good reviews about it.

Found out lots of things already (and I will have so much more to find yet!) but haven't found yet how to put GC (generator character) when editing news. I want to give credits (name on the top, profession on the bottom) of who I am interviewing but I don't know how to do that on PD9.

Can someone help?

Many thanks,

Paula

Hi Paula -

From what I understand of your question, you'd do that in Title Designer. Have you tried adding titles in the Title Room yet?

Title Designer functions pretty much as it did in PD8, so any of the relevant tutorials you find for PD8 will help...

Hi PaulaFreitas ,

PD9 Titles are different from PD8 (PD8 titles were confined to one title track). In PD9 the Titles can be placed in any of the video/graphics track. This is a really excellent improvement and utilises the graphic track dominance (highest numbered track) to make the Title an overlay or be dominated by another graphic.

For example: A "news ticker" title running along the screen bottom, as in TV broadcasts, can now be made to disappear behind a video or graphic much easier than in PD8.

Hope the additional info helps.

Hi Paula,

There is a template (see attachment) in Director Zone, which you can download for free. It has 97 examples of use.

Welcome to the forum.
