Power Tools crash (may be solved) "libiomp5mt.lib"

I couldn't use my power tools as it kept crashing the program. I would get the message "Initializing libiomp5mt.lib, but found libiomp5md.dll already initialized". This was on my Win7 partition and would work fine on my Win-XP partition.

I think it had to do with some other program initializing libiomp5md.dll.

Well the solution was to go to WIN-7 system advance settings and the environmental variables tab.

Once in EV's, create a new variable: KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK

And set the value to TRUE.

Not too sure what it all means but it's somehow working now. At first the program said the MagicMotion part was missing but since it worked well in XP believed that that wasn't the case and that the program could not access MM rather than it be missing.

I'm posting this because the search function brought up not many solutions to a "powertools crash". The search function also brings up tons of stuff and its hard to weed through the search results at times.

Lets me hope this stays fixed "keeping my fingers crossed".

Hi Dave -

I've never seen that error & understand it even less than you do!

This seems to confirm what you're suggesting... http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/opm-abort-initializing-libguide40dll/

Cheers - Tony

Yes Tony.

I could not find that error anyplace and was pointing fingers at Imtoo Video Converter as there is a libiomp5md.dll involved with it.

I'll try and see what program was conflicting but probably quite an anomaly for PD9 issues.

Sometimes it good to just be satisfied a problem was corrected.

I wouldn't even know how to get and install the latest intel OpenCV.

I have experimented with this error removing changing the variable to true and false with 100% repeatability of the error.

Just thought I would provide a photo of the error. See attached.

It would be nice to get a real solution as Intel's disclaimer says setting the variable to False could cause undefined behavior. But all is running good so far.
