YOU guys are on to something here.
I have my SS Libraries of sounds on a whole separate HD in a Directory structure or folders so each folder can be backed up easily.
I need to keep my C drive as small as possible so I can keep Acronis True Image from making a giant image backup. I have always kept as little as possible on my C drives and kept the C partition as small as I can. I like keeping data on my other partitions.
Sonicfire allow you in TOOLS to specify and add search & install folders and manually add albums and its not perfect. These are the folders I have put on a separate partition. So when I insert a SS CD I can tell it to copy that CD to the directory I pick as the sound installation directory. I like to keep each directory under 4.4 GB so I can back them up to a DVD and I'm glad I did this as it eases re-installation.
One of my SS disks doesn't install automatically and I have to manually put it on. If I do this before I install PD9 I'm OK. But if I manually install a SS disk after installing PD9, I think that's where the issue is.
I'll see if I can get a hold of SS support for the exact error message.
Everything is working good so far as long as I don't manually or maybe automatically install any more SS CD's. I leaning to manual installtion as being the problem.
For some reason my CD/DVD player references the last CD/DVD that was put in it while the present CD/DVD is in it and this causes a hiccup with SS installation. As once SS aborts the copy, it wont detect that CD anymore even if I hit F5 in explorer to refresh the directory.
This then forces me to copy the CD manually. And this could be an issue with POWERDESK that I use that has replaced Windows Explorer. Powerdesk does not respond to F5 refresh of the folder tree to well.
