I tried to execute PowerDVD in WMC to play blu ray disc and it can't play at all. It just have blank screen after PowerDVD being called and shown the logo and the logo soon will disappear and nothing happens after all.

I tried to execute it in Windows desktop and it works without a flaw. Please help.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Please post the following information so we may serve you better:

From my experience with Windows 7 MC and PowerDVD 10... If i have been playing a DVD and switch back to a blu ray it will sometimes just sit at a blue screen instead of loading. I hit the MC button on the remote, choose powerdvd 10 again, the blu ray light goes crazy, and then i get the firmware update warning...

If that doesn't help be sure to post the information requested at the top.

Hi,
please try this:

1. install latest PowerDVD Patch
2. uninstall / disable the Virtual drive (just to check the case) and only use real BD discc

I also had this problem but I just discovered a solution.

Search for the PowerDVDCinema10 file (the MCL file and not the application file above it) in Windows Explorer which is located in the PowerDVD sub-folder named PowerDVD Cinema. Right click the file with your mouse and select "open with." Then, select Windows Media Center which should be listed under recommended programs.

I wish CyberLink paid it's customers for solving problems that their tech support is unable to resolve. LOL

Hi Rob Z,

do you know which app was tking over the "MCL" before you changed back to MCE?

Can you list down which MCE Plug-ins you use - maybe we can build up an environment to reproduce the issue here.

As you may understand that you first need to understand the issue and reproduce it to find out the root cause and then have a solution.

thanks for your input and br

The only two WMC plug-ins that I use are for Netflix and Photoshop Elements 8. No other app seemed to have taken over the PowerDVD MCL file. Disabling or deleting these other programs does not solve the problem.

I also noticed that the above solution (or simply double clicking the MCL file) only temporarily corrects this problem. The user might have to re-apply this solution every time they turn on their computer. It seems that a software bug in WMC (or recent Microsoft updates to it) or PowerDVD is conflicting with the MCL file causing WMC to crash when attempting to use the WMC version of PowerDVD.

I think the problem is resolved by now with the workaround.

Thread close please.

Actually, no it's not, as shown here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/15/16002.page#83035
I still experience at least once every other day, and I have NO extra plugins in WMC. The workaround works every time but it's only TEMPORARY. This is an ongoing issue...
