That show another area for SIGNIFICANT improvement in the program why in the heck do we see a stupid error code, a beginning programmer could just as easily have a popup showing a listing of items you should check and or the reason for the error code

Just ignore what Dickyflyfisherman says. He can't hep you at all.......

A quick Cyberlink forums search for that code showed up quite a bit.

It appears to be a "disk full" or burning error.

hehe some folks are "disk full" of themselves

sorry board.................., he asked for it

why should the user need to check out anything when it could easily be avoided, as noted previously

I guess the programmer needs attention and wants folks to beg for an explanation, after all it would have been much easier to display "disk full" rather some dopey error code

Dick,
After what you've written on the forum previously, please can you tell me if you are a PowerDirector 9 user?

I believe you are not - correct me if I'm wrong.

Both Dick and Bubba - that's enough.

I love PD8 do not have the time yet for PD9 but it does show great promise my main issue was the fact that I spent almost an entire weekend trying to download my paid for PD9 ultra program, never happened, would you not be "agitated a tad?

Right Dick,
First I respectfully ask you to desist from entering comments on the PD9 forum when you're not a user of the product.

As to you not being able to complete a download a while ago. I provided you with the information on how to resolve that in a PM and the options are for you to follow. The download issue is more the fault at your end* than with CyberLink.

* ISP restrictions, bandwidth allowance, connection speed.

Best of luck.

This thread has now veered off topic.

I wanted to thank everyone for their response to my delima and questions w/this powerdirector9. I guess this software has to may kinks in it for me to use. I downloaded a trail version also on my laptop to see if it ran into any errors. My desk top runs vista and my laptop runs windows 7. Both computers are doing the same thing. I'm giving up trying to trouble shot problems. I've tried everything thats been suggested with no luck. This is not how its suppose to work. Someone said to try Director8 it has a lot less issues. Thats fine but I can't download a trail to try it and I'm sure not going to buy it and it not work and can't get my money back. This is just a shame because I liked it! Thanx to all.

Hi. I am a newbie myself, only having used PD9 for a couple of months.

I have experienced an "e-series" burn error myself. In my case, rebooting and inserting a DVD that I knew was "virgin" solved my problem.

I am a little embarrassed as a newbie on this forum that your legitimate request for help seems to have been hijacked. I have found PD9 to be a very good product and although I have encountered problems, most of them were of the "chair/keyboard interface" variety; i.e., I didn't know what I was doing.

Have you tried producing your video? If it will produce to .mpeg2 and you can play the resulting file "produce.mpg" on Windows Media Player, then we know that your project files are good. You could burn that file using Power2Go or other burning software; or you could try putting the "produce.mpg" file in a new project, and then burn to folder or attempt another "burn to disc." There are so many variables that it is sometimes difficult to isolate the problem and correct it, without knowing more about what you are attempting to do and what your setup is. There is a pinned post about the information the pros, who are normally quite helpful, need to know to help you diagnose and correct your issue.

I am really sorry that you have not received the answers you would like to, and should have, received. PD9 is a great product, but there will always be bugs and no two computers have the exact same configuration and PD9 is fussy about up-to-date drivers, codecs, and sufficient horsepower to get the job done.

I "stole" the response below from Tony on the DirectorZone forum - thank you, Tony, one of the real pros.

The only positive thing I can say is that you're not alone. You don't have to search too far in both forums to find a number of users getting the same error message.

In the threads below, there are various solutions tried with some success. There doesn't seem to be any one-size-fits-all answer.

Cheers - Tony

I hope that you will give PD9 another "go" and check out the DirectorZone forums, where Tony can be found and other pros as well. This forum is also a wealth of information. In this case, I think things got off of the rails with the flaming and your issue got lost in the shuffle.

Have a great day.

-Phil

Thanks Phil,
I moderate both forums and you are right, this thread was hijacked. The error message is known and has been responded to previously on this forum.

The DZ forum does not have the same facilities as this forum. The resource knowledge and general information comes from the main forum (here).
Thanks
Dafydd

Dafydd: I concur that this is the better PD9 forum, but I stumbled upon it only by reading a post on the DZ forum early on. I am sure a lot of users, particularly new ones, are not aware of this forum as it is not really promoted by the PD9 software which does have an option to automatically logon to DZ. The DZ forum doesn't appear to have a functioning Search capability and exceeding a certain number of lines in a post results in screen jumping so you can't see what you are typing.

At the risk of further hijacking this thread, do you know if CL has any plans to upgrade the DZ forum to eliminate those issues?

Thanks, Dafydd. Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

Hi Phil,
DZ, I doubt it. The situation has been as is for sometime on the DZ.

Ok, I'd better lock this thread as it's time to call a halt.

Thanks everyone.
