I am using PD9, with Windows XP Professional running. At abount the point between the first 2 clips of my timeline, when played back, an error message is displayed, reading:

Media Source Error:
CyberLink PowerDirector could not construct the media source as a graph. This may be due to lack of decoding
filters for the file you are trying to edit.

The playback stops at this point. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem and discovered that the culprit was a sound file that I downloaded from "freesound". The file has restrictions and will not let you produce a movie. I removed the file,,,,,, rebooted. This seems to have solved the problem.

I recently had this problem. I removed the audio file which was a 32-bit file and replaced it with the same 16-bit at a lower quality. It then produced fine.

I am having this message come up on saved projects that previously worked! What is the sound file called that seems to be the problem?

Is it me or are there problems nearly every step of the way when it comes to trying to get files to play. Is this Power Director a good investment?

Certain things can happen that get annoying, but with a little work at it, it is a great investment. Recently I upgraded my computer, and it works great now.
