PowerDVD v10 freezes every few minutes

Hello,

I have PowerDVD Standard v10 for Win 7 64-bit.

I have the latest drivers installed for PowerDVD (jan 26 I think) as well as my video card and sound card. (Radeon HD5670 1GB & Sound Blaster XFI Extreme Gamer)

Sound and video quality are awesome, except every few minutes or so PowerDVD locks up. While it's locked, my hard drive light is going nuts like it's buffering or something. I've had v9 and v8 before, and NEVER had this issue. Is this a Win7 compatability issue, or something else?

Anyone else run into this problem?

Hi,

I do not know an specific compatibility issue - lock ups as described are more indicating an other issue like:
- interferring 3rd party Software (any other task running periodically?)
- HW issue (e.g. overclocked CPU/GPU/Heat issue)

Yeah, the only thing I could think of is something running in the back ground that's causing it to do that. It's not a hardware issue, as I've had no problems with the previous 2 versions of PowerDVD.

Guess I'll just have to deal with it. Or possibly downgrade to v9.

I have Win7 64 bit and didnt have that issue. I did however have a issue once I updated to the last update. Dont know whether that would be the cause or not.

I don't that's it either...my video quality actually improved a lot after the latest update. It had all sorts of lines across it before, but now they're gone.
