I've moved this post from the PowerDVD forum to here.

I believe you are asking for "program file association" which isn't applicable to PD for media files. Video and other media are not intended to be opened and played exclusively by PD but edited by them. The *.pds project files is a file format intended for PD.

I use CyberLink Media Show to display my video and play each one I want. This is an extremely useful addition for an editor to have. Try it yourself. http://www.cyberlink.com/products/mediashow/overview.html

Thanks You for the reply!!

On my old comp with WinXP if I click on a picture, say from Picasa, I get a drop down menu, with "open with" then a list of programs to open with, on the XP computer Power Director is included, on this computer with Win 7 it is not, is there a way to get Power Director on that list in this computer??

Thanks in advance

As Dafydd said, Power Director won't directly open or play media files. The only files it opens directly are its own project files (.PDS), and they should already be associated with Power Director. Jerry Schwartz
