Additional Video Tracks?

Hi All,

I noticed that PD 9 has the ability to add more video tracks (I didn't notice if PD8 had this capability or not).

How does one use multiple video tracks?

Thanks,

Brady

Hi Brady;

There are so many ways to use multiple tracks.
Start here, and see if you can get some hints. http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/tutorial/
Also, you might find hints in this forum by performing a search.

Thanks Nina,

Those are some great tutorials. I picked up a lot of tips.

I can figure out how to add a video to track 1 and another video to track 2. I can't seem to figure out why one would want to do this. It appear the program only plays one of the two tracks.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brady

Brady,

To give you an example of how to use extra video tracks have a look at the following mirror effect video I did as an experiment with using multiple tracks. This video requires 10 tracks to create.

Mirrors in PD9

Higher numbered tracks are layered on top of the lower tracks, therefore some transparencey and/or sizing of the content in the upper tracks is necessary to see the lower tracks.

Hal OS - Win11 Pro, Alienware R13, CPU - Intel Core I7-12700KF 12 CPUs), 16g DDR5 4400 RAM, Video - Geeforce RTX 3080ti 12g, PD11 & PD365

Brady,

When reading your post I get the impression that you are fairly new to editing -
although you mention PD8 in a familiar way.
I get the feeling that you would benefit from a toturial which shows you some
of the basic stuff - how multiple tracks can give you advantages and possibilities when editing,
just to get you started.

Would that be of interest ?
If so, I will put it by Dafydd and volonteer to make it.

Just something.

Thanks Hal,

That is a pretty cool video.

I've been working with PowerDirector since version 5.0 and have produced about 150 videos. I just haven't used multiple video tracks before.

I will experiment with the sizing and transparency.

Thanks,
Brady
