Exporting 25fps .mov file.... Possible??

Hi guys,

I live in New Zealand and use the PAL system. I use a Canon 550d which takes video in a .MOV file.

I love PowerDirector 9 and would like to keep using it but unfortunately I can't seem to find a setting to export 25fps? It automatically exports in 29.97fps.

Could anyone please help me out on this.

Check your preferences. You can select PAL 25 in preferences. See Attached screenshot.

Just tried it and got the same result. I haven't looked at the Apple web site, but I'm wondering if it is a limitation of QuickTime. Custom profiles doesn't seem to offer the option to set a frame rate for MOV videos. __________________________________

Yes it is a shame alright. I guess I will have to go back to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 grrrrrrhhh

Would the .mp4 output be an alternative? Panasonic SD9, Panasonic TM700, Panasonic SD600, GoPro HD Hero.

It would have been but for some reason it automatically creates 12.50 fps, after I already select the option of 25 fps on the mp4 format.

I use the Canon 500D and have the same problem.

I produce my files using MPEG2 1080i with no loss in quality. Happing editing

Thanks CubbyHouseFilms but on that format I get a little blur sometimes on the video. If you know how to eliminate that I would stick to MPEG2 1080i. I got a feeling its got to do with it being 1080i not being 1080p?

Too much quality lost in BD1920 x 1080 and still blurs.

I raised this with Support a few weeks ago and was told that MOV will always be produced at 29.97 fps as there was no such thing as a PAL MOV file!!

My solution is to run the produced file through free software Streamclip from www.squared5.com to change the fps back to 25 with no loss of quality that I can detect.
