Hello,
I wonder if anyone can help with this.

I've had DVD Maker for a couple of years. I ran it OK using the bundled Power Director V5 on Vista on a dual core Toshiba laptop.

Now I've updated and my platform is a 4xcore/4meg/1TB ACER Aspire Z5610 with Windows 7, which came pre-built with Power Director 7.
The 2800D installs ok and is visible in system devices. It can even be detected and used by VLC Player, which can playback my videos.
Power Director though, is unaware of it; picking up only the built in webcam, audio and DVD devices.

After some investigation I applied the latest patched version (3017) but that made no difference.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Many thanks

I have the same problem with my KWorld USB. Generally speaking, PD7 locks up trying to find it.
I normally have to unplug it, which totally crashes PD7, and MS pops up with a message that the program has died, and please tell MS about this. I don't bother.

Restart PD7, and try again. It usually picks it up on the 2nd attempt.
Not sure why, but it does this every single time I start PD7 for the first time.

PD7 installed on clean install of XP SP3, so it is not anything else in the background possible upsetting things.

Once I get it working, it seems to work OK for the most part, except for bloody PD7 always interrupting my recordings with messages that the movie is copy-protected, which is bollocks - see my other thread.

hey guys
we recently bought K-world USB and on first install we had the same problem (no TV capture) couldn't find device and didn't understand why ? as device was installed firstly
removed PD7 and did fresh install / then re-boot system

before we started up PD7 again we connected K-world USB device and made sure all connections were ok, made sure TV and X-box was powered up to USB device (no green light as yet) then started up PD7 .... it then found device and showed the tv icon

hope this helps
