Slow Producing Time

PD9 is very slow when producing videos, compared to PD8.

I did a test run and converted a 40 minute wmv video to mpeg1 in PD9 and it took 16 minutes to complete. Using the same exact settings and the same computer, I used PD8 and produced the same movie in 3 minutes.

That's almost a 500% increase in work time.

That's strange, I find that PD9 is slightly faster than PD8 was... and PD8 was quick for me. The last 1 1/2 hour video I made in PD8 took less than 25 minutes. Have not done one that long in PD9 yet. __________________________________________

Godric,
When was the last time you defragged your Hard Drives and cleaned up you temp directory?

Provide a diagnostic of your system please.

Wmv to mpeg1 was that a down scale, up-scale and what was the frame size and resolution of the wmv?

What is your system set for NTSC or PAL?

PD9 is faster than PD8.

Dafydd
