I'm gonna have a stress attack if I use this program much longer...

I can't recapture the video, that's way too much work, I need to get PD9 working properly with the M2TS Files I have, then I can worry about capturing it properly for the next screen recording.

I am afraid it is what it is....

Speaking of work....it was work trying to get information from you one piece at a time, but I persisted. Sometimes it takes work to get things done correctly.

You still have not answered my question of how the file became a m2ts. Unless their is something that I am not aware of Camtasia Studio doesn not capture using the m2ts file format, it captures in the AVI format. If it does capture in a m2ts format, I'll listen. I am always willing to learn something new.

It the files are not working correctly it probably isn't going to get any better. Your system has sufficient power, and the reason you are most likely having issues is because of the video files themselves and not because of Power Director. I am certainly not defending PD9, it has its share of issues....but I have dealt with these proprietary video codec issues with Camstasia Studio first hand and have first hand experience.

This is all just my opinion, and may be irrelevant to you. You may get some other ideas from other members in the forum.

I am sure you also meant to say thank you for all the help and information that everyone has provided you so far. But that might be too much work.

Sorry for the bad attitude on my part....but the forum members are going to great lengths to offer you solutions and what the cause is most likely to be to your problem. Your responses have been hard to come by and you provide very little detail. If I had not asked you the questions, we would STILL all be trying to figure out why you were having trouble with the m2ts file you provided as raw video footage, which wasn't the case at all.

It's completely ok when you don't know the reason why you are having trouble and it turns out that it isn't the program that is at fault. No one expects you to know what might be the problem. We are here trying to help people work through the problems they are experiencing.

But it's NOT OK to not thank people properly in a forum that are trying their very best to help you find a solution.

Just my opinion....and it may be irrelevant to you.

I just thought I would share with you how the tone of your responses are coming across to me and it doesn't make me that enthused about continuing to offer help. After all, the help is free.

Well said Kevin, it seems the internet appears to make people forget simple manners. It is something I have noticed over the last 5-10 years. Or maybe we are just getting exposed to people outside our normal social circle where manners are considered old fashion.

On a separate note it is amazing how many times Dafydd has to ask people to supply the 3 basic bits of information so WE can help THEM.

Sorry I am off my soap box now.

Cheers

Robert

I also downloaded your 20 sec video, split 10 times, applied random transitions, tried all of the Power Tools as well as Fix/Enhance and all actions were instant and when played in Media Viewer with multiple effects, the playback was perfect.

So I guess it is not Power Director that is the problem nor your video file and my computer specs are listed below. Thus it appears you need to look closer to home to what your problem is. The forum members have certainly gone the extra mile to try and assist you with your problem and I agree you should show a little more appreciation for all their efforts.

The extra mile gone by the forum members and kind help is certainly appreciated here! I just bought the program and had the same problem: a lag effect when trying to edit videos created in Camtasia Studio. I actually had a stress attack

Kudos to Cap'n Kevin for putting up an easy guide to bypass the Camtasia issue. You saved my day!

Thank You very much!! It really means a lot when we get feedback...especially positive. I have been keeping an eye on the different compressors that you can choose from the Camtasia Recorder. With the latest build of Power Director 9,build 2330, I have been able to use the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec, which is the default capture avi video codec. It has much better compression and the clarity of the capture is really good as well.

On the previous builds of PD9 I wasn't able to use this particular codec....I either had trouble importing the avi's at all, or when I did import the avi's, they didn't play back in the preview screen(Black Screen). With the new build I was able to capture with the TechSmith codec and all went well....so you might consider trying that one as the files size of the avi is so much smaller.

So it appears that Cyberlink has made some changes to allow these proprietary codecs to be used in PD9.

Thanks again for your positive comments!

Happy Holidays,

Kevin

Thanks a lot for the update Kevin.

I bought Power Director 9 Ultra 64 some days ago - can I assume that I have the newest build? I tried to figure out my build number, but don´t know where to look other than the usual "functions" etc, pages.

Assuming that I dont´have the latest version, do I just download the newest and install it on top of the old? I can´t seem to find a "native" update function.

Kind regards

Rene,

To get your version, click on Power Director, top right. I believe the lastest version is 2330.

If you are behind you simply download the patch and install it over your current version.

Did you use the wizard to create the project?
Every time I use the wizzard this happens.
If I add in my own effects transitions.... no problem.

You asked do you keep the anti virus software out of the in/out folders, how do you do that?
