I'm getting ready to purchase PD6, but before I buy, I want to make sure I can use any of my own music cds (music on my hard drive, etc.) for background music. Thanks!

Sure, why not. You can import music into CyberLink PowerDirector in the following formats:

Audio: MP3, WAV, WMA, ASF

Daveed is correct BUT.....

The commercial music you use on a video must be for private use and not for profit. All video editors must be aware of music copyright. Most music producers are happy to give permission for use of their music "not for profit" and give due credit to the music production.

I had a music producer friend draw up a UK (applies mostly everywhere) related bit of info for wanna be Speilberg's to read.

Thanks for the info! I'm just using it for personal purposes, not commercial. I'll check out that article. I can see already there's great support about PD6 on this forum. I really appreciate all of the help and info. Thanks!

What I did was, download bearshare from bearshare.com to search and download music, then I downloaded music jukebox so the music files from bearshare can be converted to wmv. Only God Can Judge Me...
