That’s probably because you “produced” it to a video file format.
- In PD8, go to Produce, then choose
WMV.
- At the
Profile Type drop down menu, you will find 3 audio profiles to choose from.
- Choose one of these audio only profiles, and it will produce your edited audio track to a
WMA (Windows Media Audio) file.
Then, if you wish, you can take this audio file to an audio conversion program to convert it to another audio format like Mp3, WAV, etc.
In PD9, there is an Audio Only profiles section in Produce, that has additional profile options.
