The use of a stabilising tool in PD can be problematic for an editor. There is no fast rule to follow however try some or one of the following.
1. Selectively edit and not blanket apply
2. use wisely and less
3. Don't over expect success.
The stabilisation tool is seeking to average a visual event, it'll zoom in and will pick the less of the extreme movement. However it will jerk at some point if the clip chosen is overly long and has too great a variation in movement.
Choice of the format can be important. I don't need to use stabilisation. SD mpeg will have problems, HD mpeg will fair better to edit.
If you provide a sample clip a member here might try out and look for the problem. About 5 seconds long should be ok but longer would be better perhaps.
Tip: Try and edit in 5 second sections for example: 5+5+5+10+5+5+5+10 - in that way you keep the event and viewer happy. Watch a film and you'll see the clip length.
