Trying to import mpeg4 files - hangs up for a minute then "stopped working" message appears.

PD 8, Windows 7

Came installed with Cyberlink DVD Suite on new HP desktop.

Just realized the file I am trying to import is an Mpeg4 HD. Is there a problem with PD acceping an HD file?

What version of PD do you have? What about your system? How much memory? How long is the clip? __________________________________

PD 8.0
WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM
4 GIGS MEMORY
64 BIT OS

The clips are mpeg 4 shot with a FLIP HD camcorder

Each clip is only about 5 mb

AVI, WMV and mpeg4 from a NON HD camera WILL import

biz,

Just a thought. Do you have QuckTime installed? If so, try re-installing QT to lateset version. A re-install of QT has cured a lot of similars ills for a number of members here.
It's a quite painless procedure that might be worth a try. Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips

Yes, QuickTime has a lot of codecs that other programs have access to and that often helps. With PD open, click on the PowerDirector text in the upper right hand corner. It should display the version. HD video requires the Ultra version. If that was the problem I would expect an error message, but you never know. __________________________________
