As PowerDirector 9 is so far in advance of any previous versions there will be a dedicated PDR9 forum, just need CyberLink/Dafydd to arrange it

Well I am in the process of downloading PD 9 now, I am quiet looking forward to having a play.

I must say though, luckily I have an off peak time to download stuff which gives me extra mb's on my downloads as just PD 9 and the contents pack is 1.3 gig My first computer's hard drive, operating system Win 3.1, games the lot was only 250 mb's. Hi All

I'm very excited about PD9. I just hope it can live up to what it claims!

One thing which is VERY disappointing is the price!

$99.95 USD equates to $102.00 Australian dollars NOT $139.95. The exchange rate they're using is about 2 years old! What a rip off Happing editing

Neal,

I thought you have PDR 8, so you could purchase the upgrade to version 9 for AUD$ 74.95.

http://www.cyberlink.com/store/powerdirector/upgrade_en_AU.html

It is still more than the price in the USA, but $65 cheaper than the price you quoted.

Hi Robert,

Then you must have upgraded from a non-retail version.

On that page there is a drop-down to select the version of PDR you are upgrading from.

You can either the upgrade from a non-retail OEM version (AUD$ 89.95) or from the retail (Ultra) version (AUD$ 74.95).

Regards,
David

Hi CLD

Thanks for the reply.

My concern is the 'rate of exchange' IS NOT in accordance with the global exchange rate!

Who's 'skimming of the top' to make a quick buck!

$100.00 US dollars currently buys $101.159 Australian dollars. Albeit wholesale (approx $99.50 AUD retail)

It's pretty poor of CL to inflate the USD. In fact, it's probably illegal in my country!

We, in Australia should be paying around $70 AUD for the full upgrade version.

My problem is that the upgrade costs as much as the prior version when purchased brand new. How does this constitute an "upgrade" when in fact it is just a total new sale of a slightly different version.
I feel sad! I may go weep inconsolably for days or just get angry and go kick the neighbors cat or dog.
Do any of you live near me? If so, it may help to keep little Fluffy or Fido indoors for a few weeks.

Facetiously Yours!
