When I try to burn it says there isn't enough memory for the operation.

I'm trying to burn a 9 minute video on a Sony DVD-R and it says there isn't enough memory to complete the operation. I have no idea what that means. I've tried burning AVI and MPEG2 and neither one works. Any suggestions?

How much memory do you have?

Post a Dxdiag.txt file.

Part B.

What is the size of your Page File?
Is your page file (virtual memory) on the same partition as your Operation System?

If you can, increase the size of your page file to a max of 4989 MB.

You computer needs nearly 5 GB of free memory to create a DVD. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

When I go to burn it, in the space that it would let you choose to burn to a folder, it says I have 216 GB available. Is that what you mean?

I'm using Power Director Ultra 8.00.2013
I did the dxdiag.txt file, but I'm not sure how to put it on this forum for you to see.

Here's the file you asked for. Maybe this will help determine if I have enough memory to burn a disc.

One line in your dxdiag.txt file says:

Page File: 3634MB used, 873MB available

The total of those two numbers is 4507 MB, which is less than the amount needed to burn a DVD.

I have found in practice, you need to have up to 4989 MB page file to consistently burn a DVD or DVD folder.

Other specs of your computer are just minimum.

Another thing, you are using an OLD build of PowerDirector 8, the current build is 3022. You should upgrade.

Okay, I fixed that part and that seemed to resolve the issue. Thanks so much. I'll probably upgrade to the newest version as well just to avoid any future problems. I appreciate your insight. I'm so glad my videos are finally burning.

Thanks again!
