PowerDirector 6 for Vista - Program stops working

I just purchased PD6 for Vista. Each time I open the program and click on "Capture", I receive a "PowerDirector has stopped working" error and the program closes. I ran the Vista compatibility test, and everything appears to be OK, but the program is not working.

Anyone have a similar experience and/or can offer any advice?

Thanks!
Doug

Hey Doug. I had a similar problem with my PD6 a while ago. It ran great on XP, but would quit responding when I tried it on Vista. Like you, it would quit responding when I would click on "Capture", but I managed to get the program to work properly by:

- Right clicking on the PD6 icon on the desktop
- Clicked on 'properties'
- Clicked on the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the window

Where it says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:' , make sure you check that box and have it run under Windows XP (service pack2).

I did that and it worked like a charm. I hope that this works for you
