Video Quality is HORRIBLE

I just did a video capture with Camtasia's Recorder, saved it as AVI, produced it as 1280 x 720 Video, then imported it into PowerDirector. When I import it and click Play, the Video Quality is as it should be, but as soon as I put it on the Video Track, the Quality gets really pixelated, and even reducing the Video Noise doesn't help. Why is it doing this? I want a clear video, not a pixelated one...

My theory has always been that it is caused by the codec that Camtasia uses. I think it is also 15fps, which may, or may not, have something to do with it. __________________________________

Hi Aaron,

What is your preview setting in PD8?

Please state your graphics cards?

What is your system set up?

I do video screen capture at around 10 to 15fps (mostly 15fps). The quality I achieve is crisp and sharp and is the same when played from the timeline. I use a different video screen capture software but I do have camtasia's somewhere. The most likely cause of the display is your graphic card and the preview player setting. The resolution of a video codec may also have a problem, I'm not sure it has.

Please provide additional details.
