The clips inqestion are " Movie Clip (.mpg), and or Movie Clip (.MOD)". What do I need to do in order to make it work? (vidio is taken w/ Cannon FS20.

When I drag/drop my video into Pwr Dir 8., I can see video, but no sound. Volume is up, mute is off, and I can play/hear other clips. Do I have to convert these?

Hi Craig,

What build version do you have please?

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/7958.page
Subject: PowerDirector - information we request and tasks to carry out.
PART A - name it

From the information you've given the problem appears to be a codec issue. Dolby Digital audio codec is needed to read the audio file. If my assumption is correct the build version you are using doesn't contain the decoder to read the audio. You'll need to upgrade.

Ok, I'm guessing and need to have your answer.

Please check your Start menu for PD8 deluxe and report back?

Please check your file association.

Looks to me you're opening the Express version on your PC and not the PD8 deluxe version.

Go check.

I got that info on the help > "about" PD.

I checked the start menu and the only program is this one. It shows CyberLink DVD Suite. Then I select Power Director and the program opens.

I cant see anywhere that says "PowerDirector 8".
The actual disk has a PD8 lable and a cd-key and SN#. would that help.

Craig -

Dafydd knows way more about Cyberlink products than I do - but I can't work out whether you're running DVD Suite or PowerDirector.

I also can't see how your disc says PD8 and "About" say PowerDirector DE 6.50.21.29

It seems like you have two versions on your PC. You could check in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

Cheers - Tony

Craig,
You are the best judge of what you've bought as you have the information before you. We can only interpret what you've supplied to us.

1. You are not using PD8, you are using PD6.5 which is a version that comes with PowerProducer and DVD Suite (you don't have the latest Suite version which would contain a cut down version of PD.
2. You have a disc and possible purchase information. Please check your records and contact your supplier.

I can not do any more for you without delving into your purchase records/proof of purchase. You can supply me those as a PM http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/pm/sendTo/4556.page if you wish. Please include ALL details include your full name and email address. The data will be passed onto CyberLink for investigation.

Dafydd
