Hello,

You just need to add a 2D title effect to the timeline like a video clip, and then use one of the text presets, as shown in the UI on the following help page, to select a creative font style:

If you want to further change the font style, you do so in the Font/Paragraph section of the Title Designer.

For fading, open the Title Designer, go to the Animation tab, and then choose the "Fade" animation for both the in and out animation:

If you want a black screen and title appearing and disappearing on it, you should start putting a black color board in track 1 and put title(s) in track 2.
Make the color board 10 sec long.

Then add titles as the moderator explained.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to make a simple text segment with the typestyle of my choice using information found in the links.
