Ok, so Ive made a awesome video for my grand daughters graduation on Power Director 365 and installed it on a flash drive. turned out perfect for the graduation party. Of course Mom and Dad want a copy on a DVD, so here is the problem. The computer I have PD365 has no DVD burner. So I have PD14 on another computer that has a DVD burner, and Ive always used PD14 and burned plenty of videos from that computer. So I uploaded the file from the flashdrive to PD14. I see it in my library, and drag it to my time line so I can finish and make a DVD... But it only plays the video and no the audio. Now on the timeline I can see the video line patterns like you should be able to here it, but as soon as I hit play to view the time line turns grey, but will still play video but no audio. If I do the exact same thing in PD365 on the other computer I can view video and here audio.. But again I have no burner on the new computer.
What would be causing the timeline to turn grey and playback no audio on PD14??

You could export the video to a different, older video/audio format that you know is compatible in the past and can be imported to PD14.

You can also create that DVD Folder or image in PD365. Copy it to the other pc with
PD14. You can then burn it with any disc burning software like Power2Go, or ImgBurn (freeware).

If you’d like to use PD14, the clip turns to grey as you probably have pref > Editing > Switch to movie mode automatically.... checked.

If you can play the file fine from the media library with audio and when you click on the timeline tp play you have a line through the speaker below the preview window, you probably simply have "Non Real-time Preview" selected. Adjust in the icon to the left of the speaker below the preview window.

I actually did that and viewed the burned DVD on my DVD Player and al was fine. I gave it to my Daughter and there trying to play it on there XBox and just keeps saying reading. Wonder if its a Xbox issue?

If you still want to use PD14, attach a pic of the PD14 interface with your file in the timeline and properties selected, maybe the anomaly will be spotted.

Do other PD14 sample files play audio?
