ever had your project stuck at xx% during production
[Post New]
Hello guys,

I read posts before about people complaining about their production getting stuck at some point. I never commented because it had never happened to me b4. Well, not until tonight. I got stuck at 20% during production of m2ts file. I cancelled production, restarted the workstation and .... 20% later same deal, production would not move any further.

I referenced the time line and calculated where exactly 20% would be. Somehow it coinsided right away with my only special effect used in the power tools = "clip speed" that I crancked up to X10. Do not get me wrong, I tried this effect before with 'flying colors" but this time it would fail production somehow. I turned off the effect and restarted the production of the movie... What do u know, it solved the problem.

I personally get very peeved at software bugs. I suspect this was the case... This case is over to the QA people.

p.s. There is always a solution - never give UP!

Read not to contradict and confute, nor to believe and take for granted... but to weigh and consider.

Hi Andy - XL

A very similar experience happen to me but it wasn't the power tools 'clip speed' it was the 'enchance/fix' section.

I was using the stablizer and enchance functions at the same time and everytime I went to produce the same thing would happen (30%) I think mine said.

After unchecking the stablizer and enchance the problem never happened again.

What was weird though was I could use these functions separately but not together. Happing editing

Best Regards

Neil

Andy,

Good job of figuring out the problem and remembering what you have read/learned on this forum! This is what I would do. 1. Produce your project as a file without using the effect in the file format you desire. 2. When the rendering is completed, insert the produced file back into the timeline and make two splits to isolate the section you want speed up. 3. Apply the speed adjustment. 4. Produce your file again in the same format as before. Make sure SVRT is selected. Your new file should be produded very quickly since PD will only have to render the section with the speed adjustment and their should not be any loss of quality in the other sections because of SVRT being used.

Good luck. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Sorry to bump an old thread but I've found a better fix than having to shut off your video enhancements/effects. Instead of shutting them off put them on and click the little director's chair in the upper left corner of the program then go to Edit > Preferences > General Tab and then change the "TV Format" drop-down box to the opposite of what it is. For instance you would change NTSC to PAL or vice versa. Hope this helped!
