PowerDirector 6 crashes when import .mov files into mediaroom. This .mov file has been created in PowerDirector 6 from dv-avi files. I have QuickTime ver. 7.1.5 installed.

Thank for Your answer.

Hi Martin,
You should submit this issue to CyberLink Customer Support, and provide them with the complete details (your PC specs, steps you took, where the files you are importing are, etc.)

I am sure they will do everything they can to help...here are mostly users who may just run into the same problem, not know the solution.

Fill out the customer support page here:

Martin,

I have just tested a *.mov file in PowerDirector 6.

1. Opened PD
2. Media Library and located mov file
3. dragged mov file to time-line
4. Took two seconds and PD shut down.

Conclusion. PD6 presently unstable with some (as I only tested one) *.mov files.

I will send a report and mention your observation to CL. Good spot!

Dafydd

I ran into the same trouble after my QT updater updated my QT to latest.
The issue will be gone once I uninstall QT and install the one included in PDR6 uncompressed folder.

Maybe you can try.

The latest QT 7.1.5 on Apple website causes program crash.
The bundled QT in PDR6 is 7.1.0 and doesn't have crash problem.

Users should manually uninstall QT (v7.1.5)
Install the QuickTimeInstaller.exe included in PDR6 package
(v7.1.0).

Do not update your QT for the moment and prevent QT auto update.

It's being dealt with - the instructions and link I've posted is from CyberLink... provided as a stop gap measure while they look for the cause and see what Apple have done etc etc.

Is it good etc...of course it isn't.

Hi,

Thre is a temporary solution that needs to be checked/tested...thought it worth making it available to PD6 users and help resolve their problems.

Post if it works okay...so it helps others.

It is a DLL file made by CyberLink.

PM me your email address and I'll send

Note: I would copy the original DIEGO.DLL file to a different location first so if the worse happens you can go back to the original. Always play safe.
