Just installed PowerDVD 10 Ultra on my Windows 7 32bit syste. Install goes just fine, but app won't load at all. If I am looking in Task manager, I briefly see the "PowerDVD10" application pop in and then abrubtly disappear.

Uninstalled and reinstalled to a completely different directory to no avail. Any suggestions?

Does the Icon show up in your task bar?
I had this problem with some logo software. It just won't open on MY machine but will on all my others.
If you see it in your task bar just right click and click restore (i think)
This is a know issue with Win7 and specific hardware.

Hope this works for you.

FannBlade,

Thx for the response! Unfortunately, it doesn't appear on my task bar at all. Not even a flicker!

I have the same problem. It is related to the sound chip on my XFX 5670. PowerDVD doesn't like that chip. If I enable the Realtek chip on my motherboard, it runs fine. Problem is that I'm using HDMI from that video card to output sound & video from the 5670 and when I boot Windows with the Realtek enabled, the high-def sound chip on the video card always shows up as 'Unplugged' in the Sounds applet in control panel.

Good morning everyone !

Any news about this issue ? I'm currently using PDVD 8 on windows 7 (64bits), with an ATI 5770. I have downloaded trial of PDVD 10 and got the same issue : I click on the shortcut to lauch PDVD 10, appears briefly in task manager, and disappear .. So in other words, I can't launch PDVD 10 on my computer. I'm not at home at the moment, but if needed, i can upload diagnostic files !
Thanks in advance,
Olivier from France.

Any solution to this? I have the same problem. It won't start at all, just briefly appears in the tast manager.

Windows 7 32 bit
ATI 5450
1 GB ram

EDIT:
My Realtek on board HD soundcard is disabled as I use HDMI sound with ATI HDMI drivers.

Enabling Realtek fixed it.

I have the same problem, and the above fix of enabling the realtek onboard sound fixed it.

I'm having the same issue except this time it's with CyberLink PowerDVD 17. It was working like a week ago but then it starts doing this thing where I try to run the shortcut and automatically the process shuts down. I tried reinstalling Visual C++ 2012 redistributable but it hasn't helped yet.
