Looks like the menu templates failed to install.

I recommend you find the uncompressed folder of PD6.
You can find "Menus" folder and execute setup.exe inside.
Then, check if "Menus" folder installed in program path.

This is a tricky way to locate the actual installer if the installer is packed in single exe form.

"During" installation process find this folder:
Document and settings\<user name>Local Settings\Temp".

Check if the newly created folder contains setup.exe, data1.cab, etc.
Then there supposed to be a sub-folder named, ''Menus" and you have it.

You can copy this sub-folder out of there for further installation.

I watched my temp folder like you said but nothing appeared there, by using File Monitor from sysInternals I saw it copied the files over "c:\WINDOWS\temp\TPDIR" however the files are not unpacked, there is a huge data1.cab and no folders at all.
I got this from File Monitor when monitoring the setup file:

9:12:55 AM setup.exe:3216 OPEN D:\Storage\Media\Power Director\Menus\ NOT FOUND Options: Open Directory Access: 00100001

any clue?
thank you

Sorry, I haven't tried File Monitor.

Did you copy that packed folder out of temp directory?
Have you excuted "setup.exe" of it?

Btw, you're supposed to be of administrator priviledge
during the installation.

Hey!

I have the same problem, but I can't find the 'menus' folder. I have not one .exe file thought. I have a setup.exe with some other files and one big .cab file which contains all the files.

Any other ideas how to fix this?

cheers

Hi,

You can try the belowed steps to find the "Menus" folder.
If you purchased the download version, please use WinRAR to unzip PowerDirector installation program and then you can find "Menus" folder inside PowerDirector program and execute setup.exe inside the folder.

Hope it can fix your problem.
