I have a new computer with Windows 7 home premium on it. I have a 1.5 TB Sata-II 3.0 GB/S 32MB cache 7200rpm, 2 GB DDR3 PC3PC 1333, EBGA INTEL P55V SLI/CROSSFIRE MB. I would think this is enough to cover the requirements and then some.

I purchased this program through Amazon.com and it was mailed to me - unopened. I stick the disc in and it goes through the first couple items fine, then when it gets to Installing smartsound it seems to run fine but never finishes the job. Everything seems to lock up there.

I have to close it out by going to control/alt/delete and ending the process. I have let it sit in that mode (attempting to load) for 1 1/2 hours to see if any change=none.

When I go to open it I get a message that application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. How can I fix this?

I sent a ticket in to get a reply from Cyberlink - first red flag - you buy a $100 program and there is NO PHONE SUPPORT FOR INSTALLING!

They sent message back 3 days later and say to erase it all and start over basically. They told me how to get to the various keys and delete them - they were already gone as I could NOT uninstall so I restored pc to date prior to working this program. Now I suppose it will be another 3 days before I hear from them again.

HAS ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND HOW DID YOU FIX IT? I can't imagine what is wrong.

Hi Avona,

Sorry to hear you are having troubles installing Power Director.

Did the tasks look something like this ?

Uninstall and reinstall of PowerDirector

Try the following way to re-install PowerDirector:
a.) Start--> Control Panel -->Uninstall a program --> Uninstall PowerDirector if present in yout list.
b.) Start --> Run --> type "regedit" --> click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" --> click "Software" --> locate "Cyberlink" ----> click the "+" (if you have more than one CyberLink product) -->Delete the "PowerDirector" folder
c.) Start --> Run --> type "regedit"--> click "Hkey_Current_user" --> click
"Software" --> locate "Cyberlink" ----> click the "+" (if you have more than one CyberLink product) -->Delete "PowerDirector" folder.
d.) Delete C:\Programs Files\Cyberlink\PowerDirector
And reboot your PC.
After this, please install your PowerDirector

Did you complete any of this?

Once all these steps are taken, did you try installing from your disc again? Did the same set of results happen again?

Kevin

Thank you so much for reading and responding. I went back and reviewed those steps and went through them again. I had missed one and that fixed it. I just installed it and can't wait to get started! Thank you.
