Quote: I have a request to all those who are experiencing an issue.

Here is an easy way for me to reproduce the error:

1. start pd8
2. new project (ctrl-n)
3. add a color board to master video track
4. set the duration of the color board: 20min
5. chapter room (f11)
6. add two new chapter mark, e.g. at 2 and 3 min
7. go to Create Disc interface
8. on Menu Preferences tab, select Template1, apply to all pages
9. Disc Preferences tab, select AVCHD disc type, DVD-4.7GB size
10. Quality: HD 1920x1080, DOlby Digital, 5.1 Channels
11. Click Burn. You get the "Final Output" window
12. Untick Burn to disc, tick Create folder
13. untick x.v.color and hardware encoding
14. click Start Burning
15. I get at 13-14% a "Burning unsuccessful. Unspecified error" message.
16. After clicking OK, I am again at "Final Output" window

OK, I played a little bit.

ad 4.: There is no need for 20min duration, 10min is enough to reproduce the problem.

ad 6.: There is no need for 2 new chapter mark; 1 is enough to reproduce the problem.

And here comes the interesting part: without adding chapter mark, I do not receive the error, and the burning (to folder) is successful.

Hi Kelly,

could you please try whether the steps described by me earlier trigger the problem by you?

Hi Cedric,

could you please try whether the steps described by me earlier trigger the problem by you?

Quote: Also, I should add it takes 1-2 hours to get the error message. So it isn't a quick process.

After digesting all the articles on this error – (in my case – DVD format burned great, but got the error when trying to create Blu-ray disks), first tried to eliminate project file component / naming issues – by stripping off an AVI file and bringing it back as one entry on the timeline, with new chapter marks. No difference. Then tried a 2 min video, no difference (when burning the Blu-ray). In the end, uninstalled the software, including all preferences, and deleting all residual folder, and reinstalling. After reinstalling turned off the hardware accelerator, and the Blu-ray burned with no problem…
