Thanks for your efforts, I have now logged a ticket with them to see if they can assist.
Thanks for the reply, it would appear that the application manager isnt getting past my proxy server. I think AppManager is perhaps trying to use IE settings but doesnt use the proxy connection settings.

I can run AppManager on the internet side on the actual proxy server and it connects to the cyberlink site. Problem is though AppManager checks for cyberlink products installed on the PC that the AppManager runs and doesnt alllow you to download installation packages for the upgrade. Because I dont have powerdirector on my proxy machine the AppManager doesnt see what I have installed already on my inrternal PC that has the software installed.

Do find it strange that AppManager or downloader exe within applications doesnt allow for proxy settings, not sure what businesses do that have internal networks with firewalls and proxy servers.

I have installed the Power... products previously has things changed or is this just an updater issue.

Is there a site to obtain the actuall installation files rather than through a downloader.

Thanks, hope this makes sense.

Quote Thanks for the reply but that patch is for Mac it seems.

No, that's just the most recent patch, You have to click on the +Read More button to get to the Windows version I mentioned.

So were you able to download the trial PhD11 installer from here? If so, did it install but was then unable to connect to download the actual app?

Yes I am able to download the installer. I may not have been clear but it is the installer that is giving the message above about an internet connection issue. There doesn't seem to be any options to set proxy settings for the installer that is obvious. Any ideas?

thanks
Quote I'm not sure if it's a proxy settings issue or maybe a server issue on Cyberlink's end. Can you try downloading the PhD9 build 3215 patch directly?

Thanks for the reply but that patch is for Mac it seems.

I was trying to download the PhotoDirector 11 as I beleive this is the option that is given from within PhotoDirector to upgrade.
Hi

I have been trying to download update for PhotoDirector 9 and the downloader fails with a "Check your internet connection and firewall settings"

I am behind a proxy server but dont seem to see any place to enter the proxy server details for the downloader. Even tried using Cyberlink Applicaiton Manager, but it doesnt seem to have any proxy settings eitehr.

I am on Windows 10 and though it may pick up the proxy settings via the connection settings in IE.

Any ideas.

Thanks in advance.
Hi

Below are the steps I got from support for installing 2207 over 1930, to fix saving projects after editing Titles and to improve stability. Seemed to have worked so far. Has improved stability issues I was having.

FYI

To resolve the issue please follow the steps below:

1. Uninstall PowerDirector using the steps below:

I. Reboot PC

II. Install Microsoft cleanup tool and clean PowerDirector installation information:

Install Microsoft cleanup tool and execute from "Start\all programs\WindowsInstaller Cleanup" To check if PowerDirector is on product list, If you can see PowerDirector in product list. Select PowerDirector and click "Remove" button to clean up PowerDirector.

Microsoft cleanup tool:

IV. Remove "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{CB099890-1D5F-11D5-9EA9-0050BAE317E1}" folder

V. Start --> Run. Type regedit and press the OK button. Now follow the steps below:

Hi

I just installed 2207 and so far this has solved the issue of saving a Title after editing it, including the scrolling credits.
Quote: Peter,
I have reported this issue (scroll up on Titles) to CyberLink already. It applies to users of XP. There isn't a work-around, it's a BUG. The issue should be corrected in the next patch.

Dafydd

Hi Dafydd

Did this fix get rolled into the latest patch, or is it coming in another release? If it did which release is the fix in?

Robin
Hi Dafydd

FYI - this is what TS replied with:

-------
In regards to your concern we want to inform you that we have checked the file sent by you and found Nero, Arcsoft, Matroska, Vorbis and Theora decoders installed on your computer.

We suggest you to uninstal all these decoders and softwares and instal PowerDirector 8 again.

Now try to use the software.
----------

What is your experience with any of these other apps causing such issues.

I am reluctant to make my PC just a PowerDirector machine as I use it for many other purposes. I am not keen on uninstalling apps that I use as it is quite difficult in re-installing all these things again, with setting etc.

I would think that a commercial product should be able to co-exist in todays operating environment.

Would these decoders be the problem given that PoerDirector is the last product I have installed?

Robin
Hi

Just a thought I had similiar issue to what you describe and I found that turning off that Shadow Edit File option made a big difference.

For what it is worth.
Hi Dafydd

Support got back to me and requested the DxDiag.txt file which I have now supplied.

I have been away but just started to continue on with the DVD that I have been trying to create and it seems to be quite consitantly a problem when editing a Title and then clicking the Save Project icon.

Do you know of any workaround or have they fixed this issue (Title editing) yet? It is quite frustrating as using the Title is quite important. With this the crash also occurred on editing the Menus, the text part.

FYI
Robin
Thanks Dafydd,

Yes it is strange as editing title isn't consistant, but I will stay away from the save as after editing and saving title change.

I checked some of your other replies to crashing issues and have turned off the Shadow Edit File option and tried my timeline issue and it may have improved. I will need to do more work to see if this has been resolved. I will let tech support know if this is the case.

Thanks
Mark, just to confirm I also have the crashing issue that you are experiencing. I am using XP SP3. Again I can not re-create with any consistancy or determine at what point the crash occurs. I too have experienced the editing of a title, and when placing another jpeg or video into the timeline.

I have a support ticket in with cyberlink support and they have been getting me to go through a few things, with no luck. Have you solved or found the cause?

Sorry Dafydd I have not provided exact details. The crashign is so unexpected so I can not re-create - fyi.
