Very good that you present your situation so clearly in the videos!
My feeling and recommandation would be to focus on getting to the latest version first. It appears that that version has a working tracking function, at least on our systems.
Uninstalled everything and upgraded to latest version. Still have the same issue, so was not a version issue.
There is definitely a bug in the software. Was able to also replicate on a second PC now that has Win10 x64 with another Nvidia 1080 and no other software or wven A/V at this time

Just tried this and it works. At the end of 18 sec. in your YT video, click the Track button and let the tracking finish. In the motion tracker window, place the mouse cursor at the right end of the Tracker 1 green horizonal line where it becomes a double head arrow. Click and drag the green end to the left to be say less than 2 min. 15 sec. Click the Stop button and then click the Play button. Motion tracking should work.
You need to start a new Tracker 2 for the 2nd part of the video. That is it. You can add the image. Resize it. Reposition it. Do the same for the second tracker.
Ok so tried a bunch of your suggestions and captured a 2nd video.
https://youtu.be/kcMXptbQ8Es
to your question about audio...the audio was split, as I tried that to see if it was the audio messing up the tracking.
So in this one, I tried the following but no go:
- Removed audio completely.
- Tried every HW decoding combination
- Also tried your method of keeping hte video small
- Used another ideo so youc an see it happens to all videos for me
Also my version is 18.0.2313.0, i tried updating to the latest GM3 patch today but got a version requirement error, so unsure if there is a point release i need to load 1st. I have a ticket open with support on that one since it is an install bug. dont want to cloid too much but if you habe a patch in between this and 2405, would appreciate giving that a shot to vet to current. this is a fresh install as of yesterday. Was on PD16
Thanks

Thanks for supplying the Cyberlink Tracker Bug recording. Try this: At 18 seconds in the YT video don’t do what you did. Click the Tracker 1 button instead. After the tracker finish then do what you did for the rick head image. That should fix it. You can reposition the head later as necessary.
hope this help...
Thanks for the suggestion...
Just tried your advise without the head, but same issue. Tracked video never actually starts playing or "tracking"

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit?
What video type, what video settings? You use Motion tracker from the tools menu I assume?
Maybe a screen shot of what you do?
So its easier if I just capture it with Screen Recorder. Here is the link to just a sample video of trying to replace a face with a friend and what steps I take. Note: the sample video was also captured with Cyberlink Screen recorder as well so shoudl be 100% compatible

Also attached below in screenshots are:
- The video properties info
- Nvidia Driver version confirmation of latest WHQL driver installed
Thanks

Video tracking just will not work for me on PD18. I have done it before, however every time I hit track, the movie never tracks in the tracking window or even plays.
Updated video drivers but no go (Nvidia 1080TI)
Disabled Hardware aceleration abd OpenCL but no Go
Any ideas?

Hi,
Not sure what's going on there. Have you successfully used the motion tracker before - or is this the first time?
If this is the first time, please make sure you are using it correctly and review the tutorials that can be found online
https://youtu.be/DHJeWYE4fK4 for v. 15
https://youtu.be/vC3xF3-V6wA for v. 17
If you have been successful before and something has recently changed so now the tracker does not work, please contact Customer Support and give them all the details they request.
Cheers

I know how the motion tracking should work and have used it in the past so not a tutorial issue as an advanced user of the product for over 9 years. It just is not working on this PC and since I upgraded to PD16.
There is a definite bug in the software with all the steps I have tried so need a patch/fix from Cyberlink.

Hello,
On any video clip I am attempting to edit, I try select the area in motion tracker and hit track, but nothing ever is tracked. The video does not move at all or attempt to track and button stays pushed showing that it wants to track and ....I get the option to hit the "stop" button as if it were tracking but nothing else.
Troublesooting steps taken already
- I have marked different areas to try.
- Tried different types of videos and ones rendered wuith PS16 already
- Completely uninstalled PD16 and reinstalled
- Applied the latest update (PowerDirector_3424_GM7_Patch_Patch_VDE181119-02)
I am at a loss and have to get a video done by today. Please advise of a fix.
Thanks

Dafydd,
I am also am having the same issues as others here on the latest v7 build of 7.00.2227c. Instead of attempting to burn the project, I am now creating a file (in my case a 1080i MPEG2 from JVC Enviro mpg video). Breaking into smaller projects did not help and really is not viable for my creation anyway. PD is what converted teh TOD to MPG and I verified that the MPGs are fine in other editors as well. Audio was fone as well but even if you strip it out, the issue still is with the video
So...marek had made the suggestion of looking at what transitions may be at the point of the Visual C++ error by checking the uncompleted file. I believe they are on the right track as if you remove the transitions, the rendering seems to continue. Problem is that to make a visually nice video, we need transitions right? So I am stuck on where to go at this point. Oh...you asked what transitions...it seems like any transition will cause the error once you get the error popup. Specifically for me it was Fade and Box-in/out as well.
If you would like, I can upload my project to your FTP as I akready exported and tried it on multiple systems while testing and they all had the same issue at the same spots (I used a Vista x64 w/ 24MB ram, Vista 32 w/ 8GB ram and XP SP2 w/ 4GB Ram)
This is a Wedding video for my Mother-in-law's 2nd marriage so I will work with you so you can analyze this issue once and for all since it seems like it has been on the forums for quite a while and even before v6/7.
