Thanks, Pix,
I think I'll use the "other software" option.
It's disappointing that PhotoDirector does not have the option of using a grid overlay - it would make several editing functions easier.
Cheers,

Hi All,
I am using the Watermark Creator in PhotoDirector 6 to create captions for my photos. I would like the caption to be at the bottom centre of the photo. Is there any way to ensure that the caption is exactly in the centre, rather than positioning it "by eye"?
Thanks
Robert

Thanks, Hatti,
I'll try that.

Is there a facility within Photo Director which will allow me to turn up the sides of the mouth slightly to turn a frown into a smile? (Like Photoshop's Liquify facility?)

Thanks again, PIX.
That was just what I wanted.

Hi PIX,
Thanks. That is exactly what I wanted to do. Once I moved from Album View to Folder View it worked fine.
But now a related question. When I am trying to re-order the photos is there any way to see more than the 12 or so thumbnails that appear across the bottom of the screen? For example can I minimise the pane which previews the selected photo and expand the pane with the thumbnails in it?
Cheers

Hi all,
I want to re-order some photos in an album (so that I can export them with new names and retain the new order). However when I try to re-order the photos I get a message: "The selected source does not support custom order. Custom order is only supported in folders that don't contain sub-folders."
So I exited PhotoDirector (I am trialling version 9), used Windows Explorer to put some photos into a new folder which does not contain sub-folders, re-opened PhotoDirector, imported the new photos, put them into an album, and tried again to re-order. Got the same message!
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any assistancer.

Hi Ed71'
Thanks. This is a more recent discussion than the one I remembered, but it certainly looks as though it will help me.
Thanks again,

Some time ago there was a discussion in one of the PD forums about the use of software to generate a trace of a route on a map, eg “showing where we went on our vacation”. I have tried to search for this discussion to find out how to do this, but with no success (probably not using the correct key words in the search).
Can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Real Ale and PIX,
Thank you both.

Thanks Barry,
I produced my 4:3 slideshow and then put it on a black colourboard. Worked fine.

Hi all,
Is there a way in which I can put one or two photos onto a coloured background?
Thanks

I am trying to put together a slideshow using some 4:3 photos. I set my Aspect Ratio to 4:3, import and arrange my photos, then try to burn the disc. The preview plays OK ie the photos display at 4:3 with black bars down each side, but when the disc is burned it plays back (through a Blu-Ray player and my TV, and also on my PC using PowerDVD14) at 16:9 with my photos stretched.
Is there any way around this? From reading some threads on this forum it seems that Blu-Ray only uses 16:9. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you both.
The reason I wanted sub-titles instead of titles was to have the option to turn them on or off at playback.
Thanks again.

Is it possible to have scrolling subtitles in PD11?
Thanks

Hi Stevek,
My slideshow is in the form of a playlist comprising photos and videos. I want to be able to have a particular photo on screen for long enough for me to talk about it, (invariably longer than 6 seconds) then advance it with the right-arrow (or a mouse-click, but see my next para about the mouse). If there was a much longer duration option available (30 seconds or longer) I would be happy. Better, if there was an option with no duration and advancing only by the right arrow (or a mouse click).
At present I can use the mouse to pause and advance, but with the mouse PDVD13 immediately displays the "task bar" across the bottom of the screen and other info at the top - this loses the full-screen appearance and in my opinion spoils the look of the presentation.
I can pause and advance using the space bar, but I find this to be not reliable. Ideally, one press of the spacebar pauses the presentation and another press re-starts it, then press the right arrow to advance. However some keyboards are very sensitive and it is very easy to accidentally press the spacebar twice, so instead of pausing it continues in play mode which you don't discover until the slide changes.
Since there appears to be no way to extend the duration it seems that I am going to have to learn to control the spacebar more effectively. Perhaps PDVD14 will address the duration issue!
Alternatively I can use PowerDirector to convert my slideshow (photos and videos) into a movie on disc, using a short duration for each photo, and use the controls on my DVD player to pause as necessary.
Thanks for your help.

Stevek,
Sorry
I am using PowerDVD13, and omitted to mention it because I posted in the PowerDVD13 forum.
