Thanks very much. The issue does seem to correspond to specifi clips and images. I will try your suggestion and hope it works. thanks very much.
I forsee what may hamper it, the clips in the time line are trimmed verisions of the originals full length clips. I guess if I convert them as you suggest, and rename and store as suggested, the timeline will still pick up the sections of the clips at their variuos places in time through the product .
I will try it and do appreciate the suggestion very much - thank you!

Greetings!
I hope those more knowledgable than I may help me solve this problem I am having and appreciate any help greatly.
I have a video project I have been working on for several weeks, I have it all put together, with components consisting of video clips (.mp4), audio (.wav), and still iamges (.jpg) It is a music video, so there is only 1 audio track.
It is all put together and previews correctly.
The problem arises when I go to "produce" it. The resulting file plays fine for a minute or two, then the video dissappears and only a blank, black screen shows. The audio keeps going fine for the whole 4+ minute length. Sections of the video do play later, then other sections dissappear with only the black screen showing again.
I am using Power Director 365 and have made various other videos without this problem happening before. I am not doing anything different with the way I assembly the video, but it is as if certain clips and images are just refused when I go to produce it.
Reading similar posts I found here, I have turned off the hardware accelaration and fast video rendering. I also "optimized" system which I found in the settings too.
Also I have tried outputting it to a many of the formats available as I can, H.264, H.265, .avi, .wmv, .mpg etc, the blank screen shows in all of them.
So if anyone can offer a suggestion I will be indebted and very very appreciative if it can be solved. I am flustered, frustrated and pulling more hair out than I can afford to lose- Thanks!
PS- I am not on the computer I am using to make the video and would share screen caps if I could, but may be able to later if needed, thanks again very much

The first keyframe in the clip in the Mask Designer was not at the very beginning of the clip, but 0.03 from the start...duh...
Wonder how I might get a clips to not "blink" when it starts, imediately following another clip on the time line?
Its like the 2nd frame of the second clip is blank, making it dissappear for a 30th of a second, then its back and goes on. I have tried everything I can think of - checked the opacity and keyframe, 100% opacity, no keyframes, I am at a loss and hope some kind and knowledghable person can give me a top Thanks!
PS - I run PD365 on Windows 10.

Hi ROC1929
I took a look here, I verified that it has 4 options: image, text, drawing works the last one seems to be in error, besides darkening the image making it difficult to visualize it doesn't work
If you use the 3rd option I think you can create the mask with a pencil it should work
Thanks! I'll see if one of those other options work better - I forgot to mention I was using the "free-form" or "user-defined mask" button.

Greetings –
I have searched this forum for posts regarding this issue but not found any so I will post it here. I hope someone with will be able to offer a solution. I hope there is a simple "change your____setting" for this!
This has to do with using masks, I’ll describe it as follows:
- I put an image or video clip on the timeline. For discussion, lets say it is 8 seconds long.
- I put a photo on the timeline below it of the same duration and mask part of it so the underlying image/video shows through (the issue is the same using still images or videos underneath the masked image)
- After getting that done and clicking ‘ok” the problem arises. The first couple of seconds of the masked “overlay” image just disappear. There is nothing there, all that is visible is the underlying image for 2 +/- seconds.
I have tried:
- Stretching my overlay/masked image left on the time line for an amount of time equal to the blank section in hopes that when it does start to show it will be visible when it is needed at the start of the underlying clip. No luck, the blank section just starts 2+/- seconds earlier and is now 4+/- seconds long, still not masking the clip it is supposed to cover until the same point in the timeline 2+/- seconds after the start of the underlying clip.
- Outside of PD, saving the two clips with new file names and using those instead of the ones I was using.
- Starting a whole new project just using the two clips involved. Same problem.
- Starting a whole new project using just new re-named clip files. No luck there either.
My thinking on starting a new project with the 2 clips only was I could make a separate video of them, then insert it into the larger overall video I am working on.
I am grateful for this place I can ask about things like this and really appreciate any suggestions others may offer. Thanks in advance!

Thanks again for the help!! That worked and I was able to move forward with my project the way I hoped.
If anyone is interested, I use Power Director to make my own music videos, here is a sample from my Youtube Channel: Muddy Water
(shameless self-promotion" here, feel free to watch as many others on my channel as you want and share with friends, and subscribe to it......my goal when I started it a year ago in June was to become a "YouTube Sensation"...that hasn't quite panned out...don't give up you day job as they say... )
The videos you find there were made with the old 2013 version, and vary in complexity. Some are simple slide shows with music. Some are more elaborate.
Thanks again for the generous sharing of helpful information!

Here it works after I move the cursor to the right
Thanks - I have tried, wiggling, tickling, scooting, pushing and pulling my mouse & cursor around and any number of forms of "clicking" to no avail. Maybe I am over doing it and will try again. Thanks-

I just got the new upgrade and I must say my initial response is not good. First thing I noticed is the trash can button is missing. When I am making cuts on a clip there is no way to delete the unused pieces without going through a clunky menu, or getting my keyboard out. What?! Maybe I am missing something? I looked for a setting but no avail.
Also the clip/movie button is gone from the preview. Now when I click stop, it only goes back to the end of the clip. I can see no way to switch it back & forth as we used to. Again... maybe I am overlooking a setting?
There are other things missing but those are the 2 major problems so far. The clunky interface has ruined any semblance of a workflow.
I understand that there is always an adjustment period to get used to 'improvements' but these 2 were poorly thought out. Can we get a toggle to put them back?
I notice the clip/movie button seems to arbitrarily switch itself, movie seem to be the default. In one of the pull-down menus ( I forget which one, "view" or "preview" maybe) up top you can select movie or clip too if the buttons in that window aren't there or working.

Hi -
I have recently upgraded my old 2013 version of PD to 19/365 and I have a problem. In the “Pan, Crop and Zoom” window, the Keyframe buttons are disabled. I miss them, and it doesn’t truly “pan crop and zoom” without being able to use them.
I can pick the “keyframe” button above the timeline and a window opens that allows me to work with key frames, but the are still disabled (gray out) and unusable in the “Pan, Crop and Zoom” window. I had finally figured out how to use those in the old version I had, then my old computer died, now I have a new computer and new PD software, but the old version is gone forever and I can’t go back.
Anyone have a tip on how to activate those keyframe buttons in the “Pan, Crop and Zoom” window? It would be a great help, much appreciated and relieve considerable frustration!
Thanks very much.
