Quote To get around the problem use the supplied capture software to record and save. Import the recording to PD12 to edit.

the only included software was PD12, EZGrabber and the drivers for the VC500
Afer working fine for some time, now PD12 is giving us an error message when we try to use the USB
capture sevice (VC500). This is the error message
---------------------------
CyberLink PowerDirector
---------------------------
CyberLink PowerDirector could not complete the recording preparation. This may be due to:
1. Your computer’s operating system not recognizing the capture device.
2. The capture format not being compliant with the industry standard format.
3. There being no time/date stamp information on the tape or the information containing errors.
Try to:
1. Ensure your capture device’s driver is up to date and can be correctly detected in the Control Panel.
2. Reset the capture settings to default within the capture device application you are using.
3. Choose "Do not detect scenes after capture" in the Capture Preferences.

OK

The kicker, when connected to the computer I used to test it out it works fine.
we've gone thru the list above (just the drivers for the VC500) with no success,
and ever reinstalled drivers and the PD12 program.
Is there something I've missed?
