DVD menu templates are called DVD Menus in the Directorzone and have no aspect ratio. Particles are not dvd menus, have an aspect ratio and are found in the Edit/Particle tab of the Library room.
To access the DVD menus. Go to Create Disc/Menu Preference tab on the top left of the screen and you should see the DVD menus.
Interesting. I have always done the same thing: click on the download templates button and it brings me to the same place where I choose a template for the dvd menu. It has always worked. Now all the sudden, it is bringing me to particles? they look like dvd template menus

I am using powerdirector 10. I have been downloading dvd menu templates (I guess they are called particles?) and they have been showing up and ready to use in the menu area when creating a dvd. All the sudden, none of them show up. I am making sure that the ratio matches. What could this be from all the sudden? thanks

Dare I ask what your level of tech savvy is? Or anyone close by who can be involved in your project?
I am pretty tech savy. have been working with computers since the first all in one mac came out. mostly just using the software. I have never worked with editing film - although I do a good amount of photo retouching (having been a pro product photographer for 17 years or so). I think my main problem right now is trying to deal with cyberlink software that is packaged with my computer and is somewhat worthless for how limited it is. so, I am trying to figure out how to get it working so it can be at least a little useful.

What is the version of PD?
Will it capture analog at all?
What is your hardware cameras/vcr, tbc and your capture card?
PowerDirector Version: 15.0.4409.0
It doesn't appear to have any ability to capture anything. Just keeps saying it has to be upgraded.
I use a camcorder and an old vcr. Avermedia dvdezmaker 7 converts to digital. I have a brand new dell xps with upgraded video card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

It would help if you took a screenshot of the About version screen.
PD15 is no longer supported, so you won't be able to upgrade from something like the LE version to the full version of PD15. The only produce currently sold by Cyberlink is PD18/365.
You may be able to find older versions from other sellers on eBay or Amazon, but be aware that versions older than PD16 won't be able to use nVidia GPUs for producing unless you use an older driver, though.
ok. So will power director 18/365 capture from vcr and camcorders, edit and merge videos and burn dvds for tv? Mpeg2?
will it work eith the old avermefia dvdexmaker 7?

LE version that you have can't; however, you can use Fix/Enhance - Color Adjustment.
Video Adjustment is for a Full version which it'll brighten and darken the areas that are needed automatically.

welcome back.
i'm afraid you can't upgade to PowerDirector 18. upgrade is from PD16 & 17. you can go pay for the 365 subscription for year for $51.99 or monthly for $21.99. whenever you cancel then the software is useless.
see 4th of july sale , or left over Powerdirector 12 | ebay .

i just want to upgrade powerdirector 15 so that it is useful
|
|
so, i got the useless version of powerdirector 15 on my dell. how do i upgrade it so it is useable - including capture from camcorders and vcr and then editing and buring to disc with preview
|
|
this is the version that came with avermedia dvdexmaker 7
|
|
powerdirector 15 came with my new dell computer running windows 10. the software does almost nothing so i will need to pay to upgrade but I am unclear as to which product I need. I would like to capture from vhs/vcr, camcorders and then burn to dual dvds for tv.
I don't plan on doing but editing of the video at all - possibly lighten up some too dark areas but that is it.
which software?
|
|
I was never able to see the preview, but I just went ahead and burned the dvd and it worked out.

The correct capture button is the Analog TV that you click on to enable the Avermedia capture in PD10. Use the same Analog TV button in PD15 to enable the Avermedia capture in PD15. It is on my copy of PD15. If you don't see it then you have the Dell oem limited version of PD15.
yes that is what I have. Dell oem limited version. that is seriously limited if it doesn't even let one digitize vhs

The PD10 is not windows 10 compatible. It was created in 2012 during the win 7 era. You may want to use it in the win 7 compatibility settings.
pd 15 came with my new dell computer. it didn't seem to be able to detect my vcr. How can I make that happen?

I am using powerdirector10 that came with avermedia exmaker7. I purchased it several years ago. when attempting to watch the preview I can only hear the background music but visually there is only a black screen.
I used this about 6 months ago with an older computer and I didn't have the same problem.
I am using windows 10 64 bit on a brand new dell.
Attempting to burn a dual layer dvd - but that shouldn't affect viewing a preview, correct? so what is affecting it?
I am using a downloaded template
