I purchased Power Director 16 about 2 1/2 years ago. At the time I paid extra to have CD's mailed to me for backup. My old computer is not working well and I want to install the program on my new laptop, but I misplaced the CD's. Is it possible to get a download under my existing licence for my new laptop ?

No problem, as I said I am new and learning. I produced my video in 4:3 using the higest resolution 4K and it would not play outside of Power Director. I cat it to the TV and it looked ok.
Then I set edit to 16:9 and cropped my 4:3 videos and pitcures to fit manually by sliding the diaginal bars. I produced that video in 1920x1080 30p. Even though I lost content , it looked better having the entire TV screen filled. Plus it plays on my computer without Power Director.
I know the more I work with it the better ill get. Ill let you know when they are uploaded to You Tube!
thanks

Can I use the "Set Aspect Ratio" on a current editing project set to 4:3 ? Or do I have to throw away weeks of editing work ? What is CLPV Method ? I know when I first started to edit I had project set to 16:9. It came up with a warning message not to mix 4:3 with 16:9 . So I went to 4:3 setting and it worked fine. I am concerend I will lose content and quality if I crop my 4:3 to 16:9.
If I chose to produce in 4:3 what is the best option of the 4 quality options shown?
thank you

Hi
I am brand new to video editing.I have Power Director 16 ultimate. I am making videos to upload to You Tube from a trip to Alaska. First mistake I made was setting all devices to 4:3 aspet ratio. I am ok with the "blackbars" on the sides of my videos. Id rather have that than distorted images. I am worried about what setting to produce my video in. I am using bout stills and video from four different devices. they are:
Kyocera E6810 4:3 aspect
Stills 4160x3120
video 1280x960 30fps
Sony Cybershot 4:3 aspect
Stills 3648x2736
Video 1920x1080 30fps
I Phone 6 4:3 aspect
Stills 4032x3024
Video 1440x1080 30fps
GoPro Hero 4 16:9 aspect
Video 1920x1080 60fps
I have a few videos ready to produce. They are under 15 minutes long. The youtube Power Diretor University told me to use H.264 . The options are
640x480 24p 6MBPS
640x480 30p 6MBPS
2K 2048x1536 30p 40MBPS
4K 4096x3072 30p 50 MBPS
Which setting shoud I use to produce my Videos?? HELP!
