I found a fix for powerdvd without having to uninstall KB4013429. The problem, for me, was a file called CompPkgSup.dll, Version 10.0.14393.953. This is what I did:
This is for Windows 10, 64 bit
1-I downloaded a Version 12.0.10586.0 from https://www.dll-files.com/comppkgsup.dll.html (64bit)
2-Extracted the file to a temp folder.
3-Go to c:\windows\system32; rename CompPkgSup.dll to something like CompPkgSup.dll.xxx; you will have to take ownership of the file before you can rename it.
4-Do the same thing in C:\Windows\SysWOW64
5-Copy the Version 12.0.10586.0 of CompPkgSup.dll from the temp folder to c:\windows\system32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64
Everything is now working as before.
Micrisoft issued a new cumulative update today that you may already have or can use Update to get that fixes problems caused by the 3/15 update.

FYI,
That update breaks a number of other programs, including the store HDHomrun app. Their tech suuport has been in touch with Microsoft and the word from his is that Microsoft will issue another update "within days". Also Windows 10 Insider Prieview build 15061.0 does not have this problem and plays PDVD and the HDHomerun correctly.

sorry it didn't work for you. It does work but the sequence is critical. After removing the bad guy, and reboot, immediately do the gpedit change. try the hide activity again before selecting update or you may get it downloaded again in which case it will install.

Believe it or not, a visit to Microsoft Community (link) about the problems may give you an answer.
You can always roll back the updates and then add them one at a time to figure out which one is giving you a problem.
Or just restore your computer to an earlier time to get everything back. You can then decide which of the updates is the culprit.
Not with Windows 10 you can't and thats what the update is for.
KB4013429 is the biggest cock up Microsoft has ever put out, have a look around other forums it's bricking computers world wide.
you can't turn off updates so even if you manage to get rid of it it just tries to reinstall it again.
HORRID!
You CAN prevent re-installs of that update.

The problem now is that Windows keeps trying to install that update. I need to find a way to prevent that update from being installed or wait for Microsoft to fix that problem.
Microsoft has a free program to download called "wushowhide.diagcab" that will allow you to hide unwanted updates. When you open it a little box called Advance is shown near the lower left of the dialog window. Uncheck it and follow the options to find the update to hide.
The catch to this is the default update settings in Windows to automatically update your files which means if you see the update available it is already to be or is installing. If so you will need to remove the update and start all over But before you do, goto run and type gpedit.msc. In the window that opens selec Administrative Templates, Windows Update, Configure Automatic Updates, then on the upper left check Enabled, lower down where it says Configure automatic updating:, choose option 2 -Notify for download and Notify for install. That's all so close it up, remove the offending update, restart and when start is completed, open the wushohide.diagcab and let it search for updates. When the "bad" update shows in the list, check the box to hide and you should be good to go for that update. On the next offender, rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the reply, Hicham.
I started here because I was hoping other people might have seen it happen themselves, and might have some insight into how to address it.
But also -- I'm sorry, but I've got to say this -- I find Cyberlink support really useless. They don't seem to understand much of what's said to them, they usually take a week or more to reply, and then their reply is often not actually an answer to what they were asked about. It's really annoying to wait a week or more for a reply that is just some irrelevant copy-and-paste that makes it very, very clear the support people haven't got a clue. And when they don't understand, there's no-one to raise it with besides the same people who still don't understand.
Cyberlink really has to do better.
I can testify to the truth of the statment regarding the response time and "assistance" provided by Cyberlink Support.

In previous trouble reports I have asked why PowerDVD 16 plays drm TV streaming but not non-drm (live) TV channel streaming beyond a few minutes.
Your reply:In regards to your concern,I would inform you that PowerDVD 16 supports video file's streaming via Home Media (DLNA) streaming feature, but does NOT support TV channel live streaming via the network nor Home Media (DLNA).
My current setup is Cable TV hookup to a STA1520 to SiliconDust HDHR3-CC (cable card) via coax cable and USB. The HDHR3-CC is also connected to the network router via RJ1 cable and router to PC.
I had occaison to update to Windows 10 build 15019 this weekend. PowerDVD found the HDHR3-CC and signaled it to be a HDHomeRun DMS as usual. In PC mode I checked all the Channel lineups found by PowerDVD. I found only DRM channels.
This puzzled me but also bore out your statement above. In previous installations I had used the same tuner driver location each time that I use with other versions of Windows. This time I chose a different location and installed the HDHR3-CC drivers, rebooted and behold, I now had all the live and DRM channels available.
The live TV plays as well as the DRM TV except it shuts off at around 30 minutes playing time.
I submit this for your consideration to examine the timer anomaly if possible in a near future update. BTW, I'm not interested in recording only viewing.

Hi TOF,
The technical support answered you on 2017-01-19. Please check you e-mail account.
Greetings
Hicham
Yes this is what I got on the 19th:
In regards to your concern,I would inform you that PowerDVD 16 supports video file's streaming via Home Media (DLNA) streaming feature, but does NOT support TV channel live streaming via the network nor Home Media (DLNA).
There are certain TV recorders supporting the Live streaming feature that port the TV channel to other player client with live video.
The streaming is not streaming a video file, but a TV channel's live video that PowerDVD does NOT support currently. Please feel free to contact us back for any further clarification or for any assistance related to CyberLink products.
In my ignorance I fail to see the answer here of why the "live" (non-drm) channel will display for several minutes and then stop while the streaming drm channels will continue displaying. Indication in the answer that PowerDVD16 does Not support TV channel live streaming is confusing since indeed it does for 25-30 minutes at least before it stops. Looks like I'll wait for the next update to see if it is fixed.

Still waiting on CyberLink response to report sent on 1/4/2017. Anybody solved this yet?
We are users just like you so we don;t have any access to the reports you sent to Cyberlink Tech Support.
If you already posted the problem on the forum and no one has responded, no user who frequents this forum has experienced or solvewd the problem or they would have responded.
No response to date for Trouble Request CS001697632 1/04/2017
Reading posts on this board and another shows more with this problem than just me. And you are correct that nobody has solved the problem, including CyberLink. A shame because Microsoft has cutoff the capability for USA users of CableCard based tuners like HDHR3-CC from SiliconDust to use a patched version of Windows Media Center in Windows 10. That WMC problem does not appear to affect non-US users and perhaps for non-US users of PowerDVD when playing local channels. We have a work around to view these channels in Windows 10 but that means stopping one program and starting another, doable but aggravating.
I understand you are a user as am I but I had hopes that someone from CyberLink would respond to at least acknowledge the problem.

I have filed a report with Cyberlink today about these video stopping and PowerDVD crashing when changing channels stream from the HDHomeRun Prime cable tuner box.
Update on my latest findings:
If I start PowerDVD and tune it to a DRM NON-PROTECTED TV Channel (like channel 2 for CBS TV in NYC), the video will stream for 25 minutes and then stop and exits back to the TV Channel selections menu. From there I can restart the same TV Channel and it would again play for only 25 minutes and exit back to the channel guide menu. This is consisitently repeatable over and over again.
If I start PowerDVD and tune first to a DRM PROTECTED premium content channel it will show and play without stoppping for a long time until I stop it or change channels. If I change to another DRM PROTECTED content channel it continues to play as long as I want it to. However if I change it to a DRM NON-PROTECTED channel it will crash and exit PowerDVD entirely giving me the error dialog pop-up window to send in the error log to Cyberlink.
These symptoms are repeatable on both Windows 10 Pro 64 bit OS as well as Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit OS on my Intel I7 CPU gaming PC with 16GB RAM, with an Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 480 8GB DDR5 memory graphics adapter.
There seems to be a bug when switching between using DRM Non-Protected channels and DRM Protected channels that will cause it to crash and burn.
It seems to have a timer threshold of 25 minutes watching any DRM Non-Protected channel. Program allocated Buffer Memory space fills up and quits maybe? Bug in the code.
Contacting Cyberlink support on this issue came back with a LAME answer. They said that they do not support it! It's obvious that PowerDVD can play the HDHomeRun TV video streams but Cyberlink seems to have purposely crippled it so that it only plays the DRM Non-Protected channels for ONLY 25 minutes and then stops the video playback. Disappointed.
I have the same problem. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit both AU and latest Insider Preview version 15002 using HDHomerun HDHR3-CC for tuners.DRM Channels play perfectly (so far) but non-DRM channels run well for about 25-30 minutes and then revert to the channel selector screen. This is completely repeatable and was reported to Support in early January.
Support came back with a request for more information, perhaps because I pointed out an error in their instructions for locating the SR in the Windows 10 registry. I porvided the following on 1/04/2017 as requested:
PDVD_HKEYLM.JPG, Instruction.txt, DxDiag.txt, ChannelSel.JPG, PDVD_HKEYCU.JPG
To date I have had no additional contact from Support. This does not make for great confidence in CyberLink techincal support.
Has or have anybody heard of or seen any response on this subject other than a very loud Silence from CyberLink support?

Hi TOF,
To get the SR number of PowerDVD, you may launch PowerDVD directly, and click the "PowerDVD" string icon in the main program window to open the About version page. (The icon is usually at top left side of the main window.)
You can find SR number of your PowerDVD version on the About page.
Greetings,
Chuck
Thank you for the reply. I didn't know that at the time and was following the instructions provided by your site while trying to complete the initial form to report my problem with PowerDVD crashing while tuned to a non-DRM TV channel. It appears now that several others have reported this same problem. I have not seen indication of a Cyberlink response so far but remain hopelful.

Hi,
I have the same issue here. It's really annoying, this bug is six months old now.
Regards
It would seem that an interim fix would be to take the last Running update, add a higher number to it and reissue it until the glacial fix machine can be restarted. Not all that is sarcasm.

Hi Im new in this and I write this issue on other forum for mistake sorry my issue is recently windows has a update to version 1607 os build 14393.576 I use to download my music trough Napster and play it on PowerDVD 16 was not problem before the update and I try to play on Napter directly and come whit this message Windows 10 version 1607 has removed support for windows media DRM, i appreciate if somebody tell me what I can do thanks
I suggest re-installing PowerDVD. I updated a 14956 build that had been working with my HDHomerun Prime tuners to the new 15002. While the PDVD icon was intact and would open, and channel selection folder would show, clicking on it would only error out with "no media available" or something like that.
I re-installed the PowerDVD and all is working again.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Edit: (Unfortunately the original format has not been preserved but the Reg Key locations are still there)
While filling out a trouble report to CyberLink I needed the SR number for inclusion. However the instructions insisted the SR could be found as shown in 2. Location which is correct for that build and probably will be correct for the next Production Release of the Creator version. The actual location shown in 1. is correct for Build 14393.xxx in case anyone is as inefficient as I appear to be. 1.
