I was able to rip a DVD movie to a thumb drive. Can someone tell me how to carve out a 30-second portion of the movie and move it to the Media Library Room so I can drag it down to the Timeline in PD14? I see clips from movies on YT, so it must be possible to do it...
Thanks very much!

Neil,
"P.S. cute lookin' pooch you have there!" Being from Australia, you would know about Border collies, or their cousins, the Australian shepherds. I did a little YT piece (with my old Win Movie Maker) about our farm - - look under Brumble Buffin. Our sheep shearer came over from Australia once a year and made his rounds to farms in the S.E. United States, shearing small flocks and large ones. Delightful character.
And thanks much for the PiP tip - - I'll explore this alternate strategy for overlay text.

Thanks, Jirka. I'm trying to cope with the speed of these tutorials. The slower pace and zoom into the screen used by Malick in the PD University tutorials helps a lot. All of us are not I.T. wizards out here.

I'm new at this, as you can tell by my question. I've looked at tutorials and experimented, but still having a tough time getting the hang of adding text.
As a song is played and the clips fade in/out, I want to fade the words to the song in/out. Any suggestions out there? Thanks very much!
