Cyberlink updated YouCam 7 from build 0824 to build 1511.
Currently this build is available in the form of a standalone bundle but not as a patch updater.
The update page shows only the 0824 patch.

I've had tested PowerDVD 15 with Windows 10 TH2 1511 and the programID was unable to detect the application.
PS: Had received the notification for avatar removal. No further action required.

PowerDVD 15 file association assistant works flawlessly with previous versions of Windows but not with Windows 10.
Even Windows 10 program association wizard doesn't include the app in the ProgID list!
Because of that frustration I decided to format my HP notebook and reinstall Windows 8.1 from scratch.

Hello there
Have you already installed the latest patch (build 0824)?
If no I strongly recommend installing it to fix your problem.
|
|
CyberLink forgot to add a notice about YouCam 6 build 4601.
Unlike the previously released patches this build is applicable only for retail and online versions of the app.
The patch fails to install when a trial/upgrade from trial to deluxe version is detected.

Cyberlink released a patch for Youcam 7 which fixes a couple of bugs. It also adds support for Windows 10 and updates Youcam 7 to build 0824.
Currently there's no Windows 10 support update for Youcam 6 yet.
If the problem persists even after applying the update chances you got having driver, hardware or BIOS-related conflicts causing the application to crash unexpectedly.

Both Windows 10 and PowerDVD 15 are crappy, with the former being the worst OS M$ has ever built!
|
|
I've performed a clean install of Windows 10 then removed the new OS from my laptop shortly after.
The result was a pure disaster, I sadly regret installing that piece of crap.

the latest update of AMD drivers (15.7.1) works fine with everything else on Win 8.1
This is not my case.
Had stupidly installed the new release with the hope all the problems with Windows Experience Index and YouCam 6/7 being definitely fixed. I was really pissed off.
AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 killed the WEI rating assessment and broke YouCam 6.

Catalyst 15.7.1 killed YouCam 6/7 and the WEI rating assessment in Windows 8.1, forcing a complete format and reinstall from scratch.
The folks at AMD successfully fixed 3D content playback on PowerDVD but failed to fix YouCam and WEI assessment issues.

|
AMD Catalyst 15.7.1 fixed issues with PowerDVD 14 & 15 but alas the problems with YouCam 6/7 remain unsolved.
The new release broke YouCam 6 on my HP Pavilion g6 1201ev as a result of a WEI assessment failure. Now thanks to AMD I'm gonna wipe out everything from my HDD and reinstall the OS from scratch!
|
|
Even patched PowerDVD 15 still has problems with Catalyst 15.7.
I've had no issues with Omega 14.12.
We expect an update enabling full compatibility support with Win X RTM soon.
There are two alternative solutions: stick with Windows 8.1 and Omega 14.12 or upgrade to Win X RTM and the latest Catalyst release.

The panoramic feature works with display adapters supporting such function, that's why the buttons are greyed out.

|
Had already downloaded and burned WinX RTM ISO into a blank DVD, I do not plan installing the new OS yet because of the numerous complaints I've just heard about frequent crashes, BSODs and user-unfriendly GUI. For the instance I've disabled the upgrade notification mechanism from my laptop using a registry tweak.
Hope M$ will restore a couple of features already present on their previous OSes in future builds.

I've got no problem with 15.7 drivers so far with my 6570 based card. Watched an entire 3D movie from start to finish perfectly.
You're lucky as the aforementioned issues didn't affect all graphic cards.

Last night, put the probe, there is no "Panorama" is the way it should be, or a bug?
Yes, Catalyst 15.7 are buggy. They killed the WEI rating assessment and caused wreak havoc on both PowerDVD and YouCam - not to mention other CL products being also affected.
Because of this I was forced to wipe out everything on the HDD and reinstall the OS from scratch.

Hello,
Thanks again for the help.
I have already sent AMD a full bug report so they can fix the issues.
I will stick with omega till i am 100% sure the issue is fixed.
Thanks again for the help.
Have a great summer.
Fred
Cheers for the comments.
In addition to the Cyberlink issue AMD Catalyst 15.7 kills the WEI rating assessment with the following error message:
"Error: could not build a topology to decode the inbuilt file."
Have you also included this WEI error pop-up in the error reporting ticket?

Hey, I wont be doing a fresh OS install, I meant uninstall amd/ati drivers and reverting to older amd/ati drivers.
I cant/wont change my os, it took me over 2 months straight to put all my software on this system and i'm not about to screw with the os.
Thanks
Fred
An HDD format and a fresh reinstall of the OS is the recommended solution if none of your problems couldn't be fixed. But since you've finally found the culprit and YouCam works like a charm, no further action is necessary.
I strongly advise you to send a ticket to AMD and report the bug. Bear in mind the folks are aware of the issue and will release a new Catalyst beta release containing a fix for affected CL products. Stay with Omega 14.12 until the next Catalyst WHQL driver comes out.
Cheers!

If the problem persists inform the folks at AMD and CL for the issues.
Before performing a fresh OS clean reinstall from scratch it's strongly advisable to make a backup from your personal data.

Catalyst 15.7 also broke YouCam 6 and 7.
Had stupidly installed those drivers on my HP Pavilion g6-1201ev with the Radeon HD6620G mobile display card; I was unable to start the application and turn on the HP Webcam. The new Catalyst drivers kill the Windows Experience index causing the rating assessment to fail unexpectedly.
I would stay with Omega 14.12 until the next WHQL drivers for both Windows 8.1 and 10 definitely fixing the issues come out.
