Out cutting grass but will look at it later and let you know how it works for me. Thanks for your time! Jim
Quote Jim,

Your question inspired me to create a tutorial about this. I'm causing a still image to appear in the tutorial when I zoom in on a city, but you could use a video in it's place. I should have the video on YouTube within 30 minutes. I'll send you a link when it's uploaded.

Oh that's awesome thank you! Jim Victoryredcolorado/YouTube
Quote Here is a tutorial about zooming in (or out) on a picture.

Once you get to the place where you want to have the othe image on the screen, you can make it pop up, or use other motion options.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi I actually have been watching your videos. Btw my name is Jim also but ok I get this part. Now I want it to zoom staying in the middle of the map and then go up to the city of chicago real close. Then once it hits that spot I want to insert a video clip that will transition in and go full screen. Is this possible or am I asking too much lol Thanks
I am stumped so can someone explain to me how to do this? I want to zoom in slowly to a spot on a USA map and then have it go directly to a video clip I have of that city. Also when you add an effect with magic tool how to you get it to slow down? Thanks!
Quote PDR does not distort images unless you actually 'instruct it' to do so i.e. by unticking "maintain aspect ratio".

When you place an image on the timeline it will fill the screen irrespective of the size (in pixels) of the image. If the image aspect ratio is different to that for your project then black bars will appear in the areas of the screen which the image does not fill. That's how it is.

If you are creating a 16:9 project then you should use images of the same ratio i.e. 16 units wide by 9 units high.

I think I found a solution by just adjusting scale of the photo in the pip. Thanks for your time

I am using 16:9 in video. Taking a dslr photo and converting it to that ration distorts it. I do automotive so it just looks weird. Guess I live with the black side borders but how was youtube creator able to show it in a video just like it was shot with the camera?
I have power director 14 and when trying to use a dslr photo it leaves black borders on the side. I get they are not the same format but when I use to use YouTube's creator I had no problem having the photo fill the whole screen and look great. I understand you can stretch them to eliminate the black areas but that distort them and on some the crop which occurs cuts off part of the object. I hope I'm making myself clear and there is a simple solution. Thank you.

Quote Looking for a crossfade similiar to the one in Windows Movie maker or the late YouTube Creator. I just want to blend or fade one clip into the other seamlessly without any black or design. The video is a car in relatively the same spot in both clips. Nothing I see in PD15 is what I'm looking for. Thanks

A simple, ordinary fade transition will do the job, but you must be careful how you place it between the clips. Expand the timeline so you see it well and then set the transition in the centre. You can experiment with setting it to the left and right of the join so you can appreciate the differences.

Thanks, I actually just came across a video showing how the crossfade transition is built in when you overlap clips and it's exactly what I'm looking for.

Quote See this tutorial at the 3:30 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVsYnnaHO5k . The decription of this YT video gives more information on using transitions.

Geeze that was easy, I was dragging into the sound timeline undecided. Thanks!

How to you fade or use a transition to your opening video? Thanks
