Upload your pds file, very easy to strip out all full F:/ paths to give you some ideas on old storage location.
Jeff
Thanks I've attached it as a notepad file

when I browse for the file there are multiple files with the same file name ie C0001 and I don't know which one corresponds to the file I am looking for.
In your screenshot the missing file is C0020.MP4. If you have searched your whole computer for that specific file and it's not been found you may be on to a loser. Have perhaps got a backup on an external drive that's not connected at the moment - just a thought.
I can find the files corresponding to the file number searched for I'm looking for but there are several files numbered the same but in different locations which are used for other projects, I can't find where the specific file is located for my project so I can match exactly the path, the gap in the path name is what I need

Thanks, I tried opening pds file with notepad but it gives me millions of coding, don't know what to search for in "find" option.
It's a pity the error dialogue box doesn't show the complete missing file path name, I've attached a picture of the error

I'm guessing that the previous file path is no longer valid at all. Normally if you click on the browse button in that error message, it will initially take you to the original file location as a starting point. The error message gives you the file name so another way forward would be to use the Windows search action to search "This PC" which will cover all accesible devices/directories.
Thanks, I've already tried those methods, the problem I have is the original location is no longer valid and when I browse for the file there are multiple files with the same file name ie C0001 and I don't know which one corresponds to the file I am looking for. The only way I can tell is if I know the exact path name whch will give me an indication what file I am looking for.

Is there anyway to find the full path name of missing files when loading project as I changed hard drive directories on a previous project and need to know the exact name of the file name and previous path to locate it. The error box only gives me part of the path.

Try this: In the Preference/Produce make sure that Allow svrt on single… is unchecked. You may also pre produce the video without Fast video rendering technology and then author and burn it to a BD.
The solution was given here before in a different post. Can't locate it just now.
Hi thanks for the quick responses, I checked software render only without any hardware acceleration and also used 5.1 Dolby Digital.
Work fined, don't know what solved the issue, whether it was enabling 5.1 or disabling hardwarde acceleration but at least it's sorted. Never encountered this with previous versions of PD thats what baffled me.
Thanks

I've never encountered this issue before on previous versions of PD. All the projects I burn onto blu ray using 2 ch audio 60p video, for some odd reason the sounds starts to stutter around the 30 minute mark and then for the rest of the video there's no sound. The sound plays ok when I play on my computer but not on the PS4. Never had any issues before, changed the settings onm the PS4 but still the same,. Whats strange is that it plays audio ok for the first 30 mins. I'm going to try rendering in different audio formats to see if it works
I would be concerned with the speed of your computer in handling High bitrate video. Some computers drop the audio when the video bitrate is more than the computer can keep up.
Strange thing is the computer plays it back fine only on the PS4 do I encounter any issues. Past projects burned in previous versions of PD at 1920 x 1080p 60 and played ok on the PS4. Nothing fundamently changed apart from the upgrade to PD15

Thanks, I'll try again

Thanks for the quick reply, best case would be to overlay on produced footage, but if I can't then that will have to do, tried downloading timecode from media college but the file isn't recognised when I trued to open it
|
|
I don't need an accurate timecode but how do I overlay one onto my produced video, I want to give my disc to a third party so he can tell me at what times I need to take out any unwanted footage

I gathered that, bit of a strange reply from sonic, not helpful and irrelevant. I could try device tab, never even thought of that. Burning to blu ray for me is a convienent format. If I did stream to say the PS4, back to my original question, which codec and apart from format (1920 x 1080P) 50P gives the best results. I've tried burning different formats to disk but always says disc not recognised, don't want to go through the process of then converting large files to a format that the player then will play. May go and buy one that will work, perhaps I'll burn something at 60p and see if that plays in the store
|
|
Thanks for the replies..What's the make of the Sony blu ray plyer you have, some units don't say whether they can play 50GB and or BD RE discs.
A guy at my local TV audio shop told me to bringn the 50GB BD Re disc to the store and he'll plug in a couple of different players to see which works and which ones don't.

|
Thanks for the reply, Jirka, the reason why I use 50p is because that is the highest setting on my camcorder, if it was 60p then I would use that. I understand where the 50i and 60i standards originated from. 24p is def not as good to watch when I've tried that as compared to 50p. Is there a specific bit rate settings for blu ray profile or are they set and can't be changed.(no way to change when you select create Blu ray disc)
|
|
Output at 60p, TV's can deal with that no problem, it's how you get it to the TV...I maybe dull but I can't work that reply out..Would love to "view" at 50p or better still 60P Tell me what Blu ray players will play 50p let alone 60p, that's the ideal way I want to view my video...can't get them to play from USB sticks or memory cards in Sony, Samsung or Panasonic.

I shoot in 1920 x 1080 50P on a sony camcorder and also use 2 sony action cams, both at the same frame rate and one sometimes at 120p for slow motion XVAC.
I want to output the best quality possible, I had PD 13 with a hack supplied by a contributor on this forum which worked great that allowed 1920 x 1080 50p to play blu ray on a PS3 then the PS4 which worked great. When I upgraded to PD14 the built in profile for 50p stutters every say 10 secs on the PS4, doesn't even play on any other player, audio keeps going but the video stops and then catches up a few seconds later. I know that 50p is a non compliant format (baffled as to why, when all cameras now can easily shoot at 50/60p). Until I get a new blu ray player(some say that the 4K ones have more headroom to play with, which may work) that also support BD RE XL (49GB video) I'm stuck. I have tried streaming the video from my PC to the PS4 and that works ok when rendered to 50p settings apart from the blu ray profile using "Stream" in the folder. My question is what is the best format quality wise to produce the video for streaming, is it MP4, AVC, MPEG 2, H.254 or MKV, I'm confused as to which one to use. I may render a short segment of the video on different settings and compare them...Any thoughts on the produce parameters to use would be a good starting point?

Thanks, I haven't tried that. I reverted back to just before I "normalised" on a previous saved version and continued to work on that, I haven't normalised it yet but will try what you suggest to see if that works. Thanks
|
|
I edited a 2 hour video and then normalised audio, I now can't trim or edit either video or audio track as each time i higlight a clip the whole movie is selected, it appears that the whole timeline is now one clip. Any ideas

|
I haven't tested the patch but there is no drop down menu to burn to blu ray at 1920 x 1080p (50p) MPEG-2 so I've re installed your hack after installing patch.

Excellent, seems to work ok
