Stock mean nature clips.
I did find only 3.5-4.5 Mbps clips, so I'm wondering if its enough.
On my PC looks good but will discover in reality only Monday on the screen, the event is at the end of the week prefer to know if need to search for something different.
Any suggestion for free nature high bitrate clips?

My produced videos will be projection into a 14x6 mt screen inside a theatre.
They will be of course all FullHD 1080, but since they are starting from stock material the original bitrate is variable.
What's the min bit rate I need to use to have a good looking result? 9Mbps? 16? More?

Producing AVCHD, PAL, 1920x1080 50i, 24Mbps
Video card AMD HD7950Boost, driver 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega
Using PD Ultimate 12.0.3403.0
The only available hw accelleration is Intel QuickSync, that's correct?

Really nice video thanks!
Yes is less than ideal, but so it is, lot of preparation to find the right tools and define the project goals, now I need to use it!
|
|
Yes I'm familiar with layers, I didn't just have the time to learn, I'm switching among 5 different programs for this project that need to be delivered next week, and I did have worked only on PD for more than one week.
As example in Paint.NET I didn't find in program help any sign about this Align Objects tool, so I did give up before losing another day to simply try to create a blurred mask.
Maybe somewhere there is a program made only to create masks, so to have ready and usable all the the specific tools for this job.
Thanks for your patience, you are really supportive, it's just me that lack time and feel the pressure.

Finally I was able to obtrain the final effect with the combination of your created mask and adding to his timeline the (hw accelerated) Blur effect, I attach the final result.
To recreate such kind of mask I was finally able to do from myself but only using Inkscape, Paint.net is really nice but I'n not able to fine control the positioning.
Will be nicer to didn't waste GPU cycles in applying a blur to a static image for all video frames, but I can't find a way either in Paint.net nor Inkscape to create the gradient from black to transparent on all central rectangle borders. Always something to learn!

Beautiful thanks yonotfish!
Now trying to obtain a gradual transition with the equivalent of the feather in Mask dialog.
I did need to be dumb these days since I can't find a way to use Paint.net to create the thing you created in 2 clicks, can you explain me the procedure or attach .pdn file?
As example I can't find how to define exacly the size of the central rectangle and how to define exatly his position from the corner of the canvas.

Got the trick using an overlay.
Now the problem is to create the right overlay picture, witht the transparent center and black borders of the desired size.
Using Inkscape I did got this result, the problem is the white center coming from the background, any idea how to make it transparent?

Did need to mask my video to reduce his size. The mask need to be fixed since video will be projected into a specific sized and positioned screen.
Did want to show not the portion of the video exactly behind the mask, but a different part, possibly changing over time.
Tried to move the video but also the mask is moved, shifting the whole result. Any way to shift only the background video?

You didn't need 3d for these animations, PD using key frames and PiP will be enough IMHO.
|
|
If you want to go on the 3d space the best tool I discovered is HitFilm Pro.
It's not free such as non commercial version of Nuke or Fusion but it works using layers, leverage standard hardware, integrate both animation, 3d compositing, vfx.
Of course if your needs are for 2d or 2.5d it's a completely different path. 3d work is not trivial and you will need to learn before doing anything.

Returning on this topic, I did use the PD mask with feather to smooth edges.
Now I did want to show different part of the underling video proceeding with time.
Using motion the whole video is moving around, there is a way to apply motion only to the video and not to the mask?

Mine question (sorry for my bad English) was about the way to do these effects, I'm now testing VST for binaural spatializer.
|
|
Designing a scenography video I was thinking about adding some 3D audio effect, with I.e. shifting the audio source away from spectator showing a star field and narrowing on more dynamic scenes.
Any way to do this in PD 12 Ultra, or with compatible and easy to use tools?
|
|
Yes the recording was made with a consumer camera, so the unwanted effect can come from this .
I can of course enhance color but the halo or glow effect (didn't know the right English term) it's still here.
There is no way to remove it selectively I suppose.

|
My recent ballet event recording does have a horrible blue halo in some clips.
Probably due to blue ambient illumination it's anyway really horrible to see, I attach a capture where can be seen really good on the skirt.
Any way to delete it?

Unfortunately I can't use rear projection.
Nice idea the mask, will play on that and see if will achieve more natural results than simply crop the image.

Thanks Carl,
Appear you are my assigned angel , I remember to receive almost always your response as first.
Unfortunately I can't project the whole 1080 size, otherwise the upper part will be projected on the stage curtain and the lower on performes.
I'm allowed to use only the central strip, that's the problem.
I was just thinking what the best use I can do with it.

Need to create a video to be projected as background for an ballet performance.
Using a end of the room projector I did need to use only part of the vertical size to not project over the performers.
With some tests I define a 10% shrink on top and 40% bottom.
Simply resizing videos maintaining aspect ratio create too small horizontal dimensions.
Cropping it will cut out many details.
Starting from high res 4k video/pictures can achieve better results? Any better hint?

Didn't want to be rude, but before doing any purchase I normally first inform myself, read some forum comments, next download the trial and test it.
AFIK HEVC isn't even 100% hw integrated in the current Intel Broadwell CPU line, so the best CL can do is to implement some OpenCL/CUDA version for GPU computing, or use the "hw accelleration" Intel offer right now.
Complaining is humane, but after all using Internet we all have much more information respect what we can use, but indeed we can use it.
Misleading ad is a bad practice, but we all need just to care.
Also previous asking in forum is a good idea, always seen good answers here.
Sue just give money to lawyers, information exchange is much more useful.

I'm currently a PD10 user searching for software that is similiar to Adobe After Effects. I import NewTek Lightwave 3D animations into PD 10 currently.
My goal is to import image sequences from Lightwave into a post production software package to make changes in layers.
For example: LW animation in a layer & video in a layer with other elements in a different layer.
Does PD13 offer this kind of control and features?
Any assistance is appreciated.
PD is not working in layers the way you are thinking about, but you can of course mix different video clips using different timelines.
For specific VFX/compositing packages AE alternative I did wrote you in PM.
