But, the thing I don't understand is that other burning software works without fail :o(
So HalCon...Where am I going wrong?
Okay but do you not think it's bad that I can't burn using PD?
Sure! I have tried different burn speeds to no avail.

When you say "An illegal Character in the disk label" what exactly do you mean?

I have read many times in this forum that the burn engine in PD sucks and whilst I accept what you and others say it kinda makes PD pointless. I might as well go back to TMPGEnc Authoring Works which never failed me! I switched to PD because the editing is better.
Okay :o)

I am working with a .AVI which I want to burn to a DVD. I have tried burning straight from the timeline and also rendering to mpeg2 first and on both occasions I get the incredibly helpfull and useful eEB020BE2 error message as soon as it starts to burn.
I'm really fed up. On the same computer that I am using now I have sucessfully burnt DVD's using a variety of other applications without issues. I can't remember a time when I have made coasters! Currently I have a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit with all my hardware drivers up to date. So, why do I have a problem with PD 10?
I totally agree. I find insulting to have ads thrown at me whilst using paid for software. There should be an option to switch them off!
