PD6 and 7 are compatible, previous versions are not.
|
|
You can use a disc burning software such as Power2Go to burn the folder.
The VideoTS Folder is the one.
Also,
Inside the TS folder, the vob file can be dragged into the pd6-7 library and placed in the timeline. Not sure if you can retrieve the menu.
Please, corrections anyone?

YES, capture to avi, then in PD5 you can edit the avi or produce it to mpeg2, then edit.
You can create a dvd disc from both the avi and the mpeg.
Remember that the avi will be more demanding of your computer.

I could not find a FREE program that will capture to Mpeg2.
That's not to say they do not exist, I just didn't find one.
Why are you capturing to wmv? AVI is a better quality file, rather large also, but better.

Try looking at CNET.com downloads.
Or Softpedia.com (join for free).
A search will show something. I'll look later also.
|
|
Update your patch.
Then go to SeeMyWorld, join (free) and download a converter (free)
Convert the file to FLASH, very easy.
FLASH = smaller files, better online streaming quality.

I use my Canon Elura 100 to transfer analog vhs and Hi8.
Movie Maker is what I use. It would be nice to use PD, but it won't work in this setup. I have simply accepted it and moved on. There are many free programs to capture the footage if MM won't.

If you mouse-over the mpeg in the library, it should indicate where it is.
Also, I don't think WMPlayer will play a dvd file/folder.
If you look at the properties of the mpeg, or mouse-over it, it will show the file type. Showing the ext of every file in your computer would be just clutter.
|
|
Open PD
top left of screen
edit>preferences>file
the file interface should be the first that shows, so no need to actually click on "file"

You are not doing anything wrong, it's an error, perhaps in the software.
This has been on the forum before, but no solutions arose.
Try this...take the source picture file and make a copy of it, use the copy.
Or maybe save the source picture file as a different file type, bmp, jpg, png. I was going to try this the next time this happened to see if it works, but now you are the guinee pig!
Post results please.

Trust me, a properly executed conversion to flv will cure all your quality issues, unless of course you start with garbage in the first place.
Keep the audio bitrate down, no one can tell the difference.
Use 15 fps. You can go higher, experiment a little.
Try to keep the video bitrate to around 600. You may go higher, but it will affect the loading rate for viewers. I actually try several settings before I am happy with the result. I never upload my first render/conversion.
The point is...
FLV FLV FLV

Simply extend the playing time of the title.
A line of text in a title timed to 5 seconds duration, will quickly scroll that text along a 5 second timeline.
Make the duration 10 seconds, and the same text will scroll for 10 sec.
The longer the title duration, the slower the scroll, or any effect.

Try a different transfer device instead of going to dvd first.
Do you have current digital video camera? It's possible that it can be used as the converter (read the manual!), putting the captured video directly into your hard drive. It solved all my sync issues.
Hi8 camera>digital video camera>computer hard drive.
All you may need is proper RCA connections from Radio Shack.
It's how I do it for all analog to digital conversions, even vhs.
I use Movie Maker for capture, but Win is good also.

It only works in the EDIT mode.
There are no visual adjustments other than preview quality.
|
|
If you mouse-over each icon under the preview window, you will see the labels for each. 3rd from the right is "preview produced movie".
Click on that, it looks like a 16:9 tv.
A drop down menu will appear.
Click on preview (top) choice.
The window that opens is much larger and can be resized.

|
Save it to your HD, any file type. Use one of the converters, don't forget, Youtube only displays 4:3. If your file is 16:9, you must render it into a 4:3 screen first.
Then convert. Don't be discouraged, do it 1 or 2 times and you'll see how easy. Look at the tutorial on SMWoV.
Flash is much smaller file size.
Ask again if any questions, we're here to help, usually...

The very best file type to upload is flv. (flash)
Any file you wish to place on Youtube, or any well-known site, should be converted to flv.
This is easy, even if you're new to it.
Go to SeeMyWorld, join (free), and go to the extras page.
There are 3 converters to choose from, and a tutorial.
Any video file can be converted to flv.
It loads faster and has excellent quality.
PowerDirector is not yet equipped with the flv codec, but we are hopeful!
Trust me, FLV is easy and essential.

I remember reading that a regular DVD will play Hi-Def, but you can only fit about 15 minutes on it. I am also waffling on going Hi-def, but the world will change whether we want it to or not!
Good subject, anyone else have info? Bring it on!

I tried to repeat this phenomina all morning. Nope.
Computers is the cwaziest things!
|
|
No Sir,
the avi was created in 16:9, then I think I started a new project changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 to render again to mpeg. I am trying to replicate exactly as I did, but it's dificult to retrace my exact steps. But I did not do anything to the pds.
correction!
Jpegs affected were not all Magic Motion, but all MM was removed from the project!
Oy, do I need to video my video editing to record every move?

When I say not to put too much in a single title, I mean not to put every bloody credit from the actor to the caterer in a single title.
Break them up a little. When editing it, try to keep the text for each title onscreen, don't run off. I say this because there was some anecdotal evidence of minor glitches if the titles were too excessive. This may no longer be the case.
