PowerDVD9 - Subtitles always enabled by default

Can anyone explain how I can stop PowerDVD 9 showing subtitles by default. Currently as soon as I play a disc it shows the subtitles. This is pain because I use PowerDVD within Media Centre controlled by a remote, and to turn off the subtitles I need to go and grab a keyboard.
I'm using PowerDVD9 ultra (9.0.2320.0) on Windows 7 32-bit

Dear Richard,

strange - issue. Can you kindly update some information:

1. OS Language and Region setting
2. DVD region
3. DVD content Language
4. please check if PowerDVD 2ft UI (the standalone app.) has the same issue
