I had an older version of Elements which had a quick smart fix edit tool which was very handy and easy for those of us who are new to photo editing. Is there something like this is PhotoDirector 12, or a tutorial as to how to do it?

Are you referring to Photoshop Elements Quick Edit, shown in this tutorial? or perhaps a scaled down variant of PhotoDirector?

Of course it is. Sorry, I forgot the basic version of PhD is called PhotoDirector Essentials.

No, PhotoDirector12 doesn't have a quick fix module, but it does have Presets, which apply instant colour, tone, sharpness & effects adjustments.
